New member..new CZ P10C...so pretty sure old news
« on: March 11, 2020, 05:52:35 PM »
Posted in the new member section just to say hi but wanted to post here as well....'cause I'm pretty excited about my new CZ P10C!

Was looking for a RMR platform.  Thought about getting my Gen 2 Glock 19 slide milled but I pretty much love it the way it is so balked at that idea.  Then, thought why not get into a Glock 45.  Researching the G45 mos I ran across the comparisons to the CZ P10C.  There are so many choices in handguns I hate to repeat a purchase as I like to try new things.  Decided to go with the optics ready CZ.

Honestly, initially I had buyer’s remorse.  Set the Glock next to the new CZ, picked up the Glock, picked up the CZ.  At first, I thought the Glock felt better.  After all, I’ve been shooting the Glock since I purchased it new in the mid 90’s.  Then realized it was just familiarity.  CZ ergos are so much better. Have about 700 rounds through the CZ at this point.  More natural point of aim with the CZ and lower felt recoil impulse...to me anyway.

Funny thing is all the reviews on the CZ trigger.  I must have gotten a gem of a Glock Gen 2 when I bought it....the trigger has always been fantastic.  Everyone who’s shot it over the years asks how I got the trigger so nice.  Never did a thing to it.  Finally, just a month ago, put a flat faced trigger on it, but that’s it.

So, the CZ trigger was OK but nothing compared to my Glock.  Put the HB trigger in the CZ (stock trigger pinched my finger), did the polish job, put in lighter striker spring and now it’s pretty close to the Glock.

I like an aggressive grip texture.  CZ crushed this one....so much so that it was painful after the first 100 round range trip.  I could have sanded down the peaks on the back strap but have used the Talon sandpaper grips in the past so put those on.  Very nice.

Love it so far.  Have another 600 rounds in the range bag ready to giver 'er another go this weekend!

Shoots nice and flat, quick to be back on target.

Oh yeah....the slide release SUCKS.  Will be getting the Apex once it's available.

Anyway...very old news to all, I'm sure.  Thanks for taking a look though.

Old news that is always welcome to hear. And congrats on the new CZ!! My LGS has one in the glass. I fondle it lovingly everytime I'm in there. They do feel nice in the hands. Like the Talon on yours. I put them on nearly every pistol I have (except the P01). And I keep thinking I'll put one on my P10, when it happens. What mags are those in the pic?

On the G trigger vs the CZ trigger. Is it possible the G trig is so good because it's well worn in? Give that CZ 500 - 1k rds and I bet its every bit as good, if not better. Probably, maybe  ;) The slide release seems to be the one universal complaint on this model. CZ says it'll lighten up the more you shoot it and use it. Well, yeah! But, what about in the meantime, eh?

Thanks Kenny.  Mags are the stock CZ 15 rounders with the +2 base pads.

Re the trigger, yep, couldn't begin to count the rounds that have been through that Glock. The trigger was great from day one though.  I figure I'll put the stock striker spring back on the CZ if/when the trigger gets smoother/lighter with use.  I'm not interested in a super light trigger....just smooooooth.

I'll say that around the 900 round count the slide release now works like a champ!  I'll be holding off on the Apex, for now anyway.

The slide release loosens up around 500 to 600 rounds and the auto-forward starts to work as it should. Hold-off on replacing parts until you break-in the P10C.

The thing I’ve found that improved the P-10 trigger the most is the CGW striker. It’s SMOOTH whereas the OEM part has a lot of friction that you feel during the take up.

Pick CZ P-10 with a trigger break that you like, purchase it and install the CGW striker.

Thanks Mj.  I've put it on "the list" of things to try.  I should have taken a pic when I took it apart to install the new striker spring and polish the stock striker.  My stock striker had some aggressive "chatter marks" on one of the radius'.  I polished it up.  I'll take it apart again and post a pic.
