« on: March 14, 2020, 04:48:10 PM »
Im looking to buy another czp10 for a back up. I currently own the czp10 with the dual ambi mag release. If i purchase the newer model will all magazine be used between the 2.

If not can a dermal be taken to old magazines to work in the new model.

I have an ambi model p10C and a newer P07 (which comes with the same mags as the newer p10C). Both mags have the cut-outs to fit both guns.

may
be, maybe not. Look at your mags if, the mags are gen 2 there will be 4 slots below the square window above the 4 slots. If the mags are Gen 1 there will be 2 slots below the square window above the 2 slots. However, My P 10C is a Gen 1 Gun with Gen 2 updates and takes Gen 2 mags. Depends when your Gun was made! Most Gen 1 Guns take Gen 1 mag but not all do! Gen 2 Guns were produced late 2018 Sept until present day. These will take Gen 2 mags. Most Gen 1 mags will not fit in a Gen 2 Gun! Like I said My Gen 1 Gun came with Gen 2 mags and they fit! This is called a transition P 10C. Manufacturing happens! If, you want to make your mags to fit a Gen 2 Gun you must then cut 2 more slots in your mags. What I would suggest is this if your 1st P10 is a Gen 1 Gun......look for anothe Gen 1 P10 Gen 2 mags won't fit in a Gen 1 Gun. An Ambi mag release  Gen 1 Gun mag MAY fit in a Gen 2 Gun depending when the Gen 1 Gun was made(i.e. late 2018)Dig?

I think a picture might help clarify this a little. The mag on the left came with my P10C manufactured: 11/2017
The mag on the right came with my P07 manufactured: 3/2018 (don't mind the +2 extension)

The ambi mag catch engages the single square notch on the front of the mag.

The reversible release engages one of the the notches in bottom set of cut-outs, depending on which side its setup for.

I can only speak to my experience but I'm able to swap these mags between both of these guns without giving it a second thought. I've never had a problem either way.

The magazine catch is the rectangular opening below the tip of the loaded round in the post picture above. You can verify this by looking into the magazine opening in the frame and seeing exactly where the catch is located and how it moves when you press the mag release button.

The mag on the left that came with your P10C is a Gen 1 mag and won't work in a Gen 2 Gun! Mag on the right is what a P10C Gen 2 Gun mag looks like.
