Hammer Mod Question

Last year I rebuilt a 1911 Commander which included installing a new hammer. The last thing I did was take a few thousands off the tip of the hammer and put a nice radius on it to smooth out the travel of the slide, my theory being to reduce wear on the rails. The hammer was really pushing up on the slide and I could feel the friction. It's much smoother during the cycle stroke now. My P-01 has the same issue. I installed a kit from CGW which included a new hammer. Have any of you done this mod on your CZs? Does it make any difference?

I did on my every hammer fired pistols. I wouldn't call it mod, but polishing and rounding hammer's surface which runs over the slide made the racking and cycling smoother. I'm not sure if easier, but definitely nicer.

Feeding ramp and hammer are the parts I'm always polishing on my handguns.

If i am understanding things correctly, this is the first that i have heard of it. Allot of folks radius the rear of the pickup rib/third rail of the slide where it contacts the hammer while cycling.
