P07/09 mag extension
« on: March 27, 2020, 08:19:49 AM »
I have a P07 for carry and home defense and would like to have the largest capacity mags.  Does anyone make extensions for the P09 and what is the final round count.  Thanks for your help

I have these on my P-07 mags and have worked flawlessly.

I'm using Shield Arms +5 Mag extensions on my P-07 15 round mags for 20+1. They come in different colors and with included stronger springs work 100%. Still comfortably fit withing the USPSA 141.25mm limit for competition.
They also offer +5 for P-09 stock mags with a longer +10% spring for 24+1 but I haven't tried on my P-09 as I know they would be over-size for competition, but should be just fine for HD. Sometimes they have a special deal (like free shipping) if you buy 3 or more.

I've got some with a "CZ" on the them (got them from CZ USA a few years back for the crazy price of two for $5).  I got some of the Mecgar ones from Greg Cote ($10 each??) awhile back.

They work on the CZ75 type 16 round magazines, too.  You can't use them in the CZ75 but they work in the P01/CZ75 Compact, etc. for 18 round mags. for the compact pistols).

21 rounds in the P09 9MM.  17 rounds in the P09 .40 S&W.  14 rounds in the P07 .40 S&W.  I don't have a 9MM P07 anymore, so I can't say for those.

No issues with either, so far.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

This is what the +2 extensions with the 'CZ' logo look like. My Suppressor-Ready P-07 and P-09 both came with them. 17+1 and 21+1 respectively.

For a free extra round in the mags, trim the legs off the bottom of the follower. You have to round the edge off the feont right corber you create otherwise the follower will tilt and hang up in the mag catch slot on the mag body.

Is this part on their website?  I'm looking and can't find it.  Do you have a link or SKU number for it?

Are you using that extension on an orange follower magazine as specified on their website?
I'd like to try one, but don't know what actual problem I may run in to with my old style mag.

I'd like to try one, but don't know what actual problem I may run in to with my old style mag.

I actually purchased new 15 round P-10 mags that are backwards compatible with P-07's. They work perfectly using the red/orange follower that came with the mags.

Shield Arms supplies a new longer/stronger mag spring that should work with your existing follower.
But, if you're still concerned a call or email to Shield Arms should clear up your questions.

They have a specific kit for P-07 and another one for P-09 with an even longer spring.
24+1 in a P-09 makes a very formidable HD gun!

Should also work with p07.

Can you do some pics to show exactly what the finished product would look like?
