I really had to convince myself not to spend the extra $700 or so on the orange. I don't yet shoot competitively, and I figured that $1000 was a good medium. Expensive enough to get me a really high quality shooter, but not so expensive that I'd feel guilty about not using it to it's potential, if I don't end up doing any USPSA or anything similar.
That being said, I know myself. And, I know it's only a matter of time before I find the resources and an excuse to get the orange. I have loved CZ for a while now, and I don't think that there's a firearm company out there, that can honestly compete with the fact that CZ produces top-notch examples of almost every type of popular firearm. From one of the original "wonder nines," to bolt actions, to shotguns, to the Bren rifles and revolvers.
It was that reasoning that convinced me to get the Shadow. I had narrowed my next handgun purchase down to the Sig p226 legion, the Wilson Combat 92g, and the Shadow 2. I have a feeling I'll eventually own all 3, but I think the Shadow was the right place to start.
