So here is where I have evolved to.
DG 147 .356 thick and .647 long
I did not expect these DG147's to have such accuracy potential, so I gave then a quick plunk test and loaded to a a safe OAL. Well since I was surprised, I have decided to give them more attention.
I redid the plunk test and came up with different results, crap.
Its funny how I am constantly learning at this, but the barrel was dirty and I decided to clean it and when I did totally different results so now only with clean barrels.
New data plunk test results 1.160 (with a .745 case) so I tested a handful with 3.6 N320 @ 1.145 and very accurate at 965 FPS (5.2" barrel 1:10 Twist)
I also just received 500 fresh Starline cases and also some Hornady 147 XTP's which plunk at 1.120 so loading at 1.105 for testing.
I have loaded about 10 rounds of each with various amounts of both DG and XTP 147 with my 2 go to powders which are PP and N320, testing all this weekend with the same new brass.
Also, I know some don't like the flash of PP, but I have never noticed it, maybe because I have never shot indoors or I am just not very observant?
Attached is 147 DG's vs XTP's.
