@jurek: Thanks!  When I talked to the original owner, he told me can I get a couple spares from him that he got when he had both guns.  I did look up Mec-Gar btw.  Nothing much will happen until things get more back to normal though.  Apparently the second mag that came with the gun is most likely safely stored... in a locker... at a range... live long and laugh often!

Go with Mec-Gar.
You will have extra rounds once they stop making 14 rounders.... which is actually great thing.
My instructor always makes fun of me and does drills with 15 rounds, knowing I'm short... :D

have you tried the full size 16 round mags with the SP-01 baseplate (used for the 18 rounders)?
I don't look like my avatar!

Nope, but I'm OK with 3 x 14 rounders.
Thanks to 1 round shortage I became emergency reload master  :D

I have used (am using) a couple of 16 round magazines in my P-01s with the base plates to make them look right. Bought the base plates from Greg Cote...have bought quite a few mags from him too... Anyway, the 16 round magazines work great.

Congrats on the P01. They are amazing for sure. I have an UG/SR model and love it. Been thinking about getting a regular black one as well. The one thing I do for at a minimum sure when I get a used CZ is replace the firing pin retaining with a CGW one. Depending on how much they were dry fired without an oring before you got it, there could be a lot of damage on the stock one. My 75B Omega I got in trade years ago was a great example. The pin was almost broke into. The P09 I got last year on trade had a very damaged pin as well.

@Claymore504: Thanks!  I have actually come across some posts about the retaining pin when I was doing searches. I also found this video about replacing it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkyAr5Z_kKU

I may order a replacement pin just so I have it on hand.  I am looking forward to shooting the gun a few times before I take that out.  As far as I have been able to learn, it has only been live fired a few hundred times, probably less than 400.  I doubt it has been dry fired much.

I have come across a lot of good information here and elsewhere.  So far the recoil spring does not bother me, and if the trigger turns out to be similar to the other P-01 compact I tried a couple years back, I probably won't mess with the springs at least for a while.  I may look into some of the fiber optic sights I have read about, but not right away.

Even it has 1,000 rounds with dry firing,  you are still OK with factory pin. Just keep in mind you will need to replace it one day.... Do not forget to clean firing pin channel once you take firing pin out.
Happy shooting !
