It’s now the gun she hikes with in CO with a drop leg holster.   Reg 44 mag rounds were PAINFUL to shoot even for me. We Spent lots of time with different guns, Trying to find the sweet spot of weight, power, and practical carry– ability. It’s not for routine use....it’s for crisis management.  So these loads are a compromise. I’ll try some 240gr when I can find some but for now this works.

The old Skeeter load of 7.5 gr of Unique over a 240gr lead SWC in 44 Special, it’s right around 1000fps give or take. You may not see it in the books but Ive shot thousands of these load thru my Rugers. Never has let me down.
