CGW #11.5 mainspring in a CZ75B
« on: April 24, 2020, 07:25:42 PM »
I have a 75B that’s been upgraded with a CGW Short Reset Kit. At the moment the #13 Lb mainspring is installed with no problems. I’d like to put the #11.5 Lb. mainspring in to get the DA trigger pull down a bit more. Anybody shooting a gun with the SRS and # 11.5 lb mainspring? If so, have you had occurrences of lite primer strikes?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Are you using an extended firing pin?
I don't look like my avatar!

Yes. CGW SRS with extended FP and reduced power FP spring.

It may depend on the ammo and the specific pistol but generally i think you are good to go. With the Extended FP and Reduced Power FP Spring installed it seams to be the 8# Hammer Spring or folks running the 11.5 or 13 in the Kadet Kits that that have issues.

While i shoot only a limited variety of ammo i have not had any issues with the 11.5# Hammer Spring in my CZ75 variants. I can not say that i have heard any one els have issues with the set up but i do not keep a real close track of the subject.

Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

I think you should be OK.
If my #13 spring works with factory firing pin, my guess is that #11.5 spring works with extended FP and reduced FP spring.

but:
I don't shoot reloaded ammo, only Fiocchi, S&B and CCI Blazer.

I run 11.5 lb main springs in my Shadows.  Also have the CGW extended firing pin and reduced FP spring installed.  Ignites CCI and S&B primers no problems.

^^^  Ditto for my 75B and two SP-01's.  11.5# spring with extended FP.  Never had a problem in any of these.
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.

I have had a 15 lb hammer spring and factory internals in my 75B for a few hundred  rounds now. No misfires 9r malfunctions with that setup, but the dimples left in the spent primers are not as deep as I'd like them to be.
