CZ Bren 2s US Made Picatinny Rails
« on: April 29, 2020, 01:27:05 PM »
Hello, I've been working with Harry Preston of Preston Precision to develop picatinny rails for the Bren 2s platform. He sent me the first renderings today, and I'm looking to gauge interest to see how many he should machine for the first run. He's looking to set pricing at $100 for all three rails with free shipping. Please see below the first renderings, also if there is interest he has to ability to machine in QD mounts if people wanted to see something like that, I asked for the OEM style Picatinny rails for the first run. Please check out his website and sign up for the waitlist if interested, he will be adding additional renderings tonight: https://www.prestonprecision.net/misc/cz-bren-2s-picatinny-rails-set

Will those work on the Bren 2 Ms? The Ms is now in full production, whereas the S model was limited to only @ 300 units here in the US.

These are specifically for the Bren 2s. Reach out to him to see if he can develop something like that for the Ms - he is a very talented machinist. I asked for these, because I know those of us with the 2s, like it to be as close to the military version as possible.

At $100 it seems pricy. You could modify some generic rails to accomplish the same for pretty cheap. At any rate, he’d be wise to make one for the Ms model if he’s gonna do it.

Meataxe, the issue we owners of the S face is that the Mlok rails they put on the S aren't well thought out. It's impossible to attach handguards in a way that keeps you from touching hot metal with some part of your hand. You also can't attach a cantilevered light mount directly to the mlok. Even if you mount 1913 rails, you can't have the rail as far forward as the 1913 rails on the military version allow. All this because they decided to inset the mlok rails instead of leaving them flush with the screws.

Check out HBI's handguard for the MS. It looks like it solves all the problems for that setup.

Thanks for posting this lordboogie.     I sent him a message asking to develop a set for the BREN 2MS also.    The vast majority of people will have the MS version, but we need picatinny rails for both versions.   It is ashamed that such a nice firearm has "garbage" rails on it.

I contacted Mr Preston and he emailed me right away.    He would be willing to look at making rails for the BREN 2MS, but needs someone to send him the side and bottom rails for the MS since he does not have any to look over and see what is involved.    Due to my work right now, I can't get mine to him anytime soon.   Hoping one of you out there can contact him and get him a set of BREN 2MS M-Lok rails.

I look forward to the final product. I love my MS, but there is no room whatsoever for fun stuff on the end.

Hello Harry --- thanks for your interest in helping us BREN owners out.   I have a couple of BREN 2MS and would like to get side and bottom picatinny rails to fit it that look basically just like the rails that are on the military version and what you are making for the BREN 2S right now.     Thanks

Went to your website and signed-up.    If the BREN 2MS picatinny rails can be made to look basically like those on the military BREN 2, I am in for two sets.

Hello Harry --those look real good.   I had already been looking at them on your website.  Now, make us some just like that for the BREN 2 MS.    Keep up the good work !!!!

Hello Harry ---- I assume those new pictures on your website are your rails mounted on a BREN 2S ????    If so, they look great.    Now for BREN 2MS rails just like that.

I just got my bottom rail and, IMHO, it's better than the factory one for sale over at euro-military.com! Apparently, the factory bottom rail has no lightening cut on the underside, Preston Precision's bottom rail does. :D

The finish is perfect. No external difference between the bottom rail and the side rails.

I am beyond pleased.
