What's the value of a RAMI in 40 S&W?
« on: April 29, 2020, 11:00:59 PM »
Just wanting to know the value of an all metal RAMI in 40 S&W. I l've read (mostly on here of all places) about the 40 RAMI'S having problems, but I think/hope that was just the polymer framed ones. In good condition, maybe 300 rounds through it. Let me know what you think.

The metal framed .40 Ramis are known for feed issues as well. Can't help with a value, i wouldn't pay much for it at all.

That's a shame, are you sure though? I found one for $450, is that too high? I am in the market for a sub compact .40 that checks 3 main boxes: 1) all metal 2) hammer fired 3) has a decocker. I know the 40 rami doesn't have a decocker, but I hoped it's dependability made up for that. The main reason I'm looking for a 40 is that 9mm in a crisis is too hard to find.

I might take a chance at $300, but thats about as high as I'd go. Generally I have very high confidence in any used CZ pistol but not a RAMI in .40SW.

Thanks again Earl, I think this section is dead!  :o I guess I will have to pass it up. What about the SP-01 in .40? Are they reliable or do they too have problems? I'm really looking for one at a reasonable price but they are impossible to find.

I'd jump on an SP-01 or 75 in .40, unfortunately they bring top dollar. The P-06 is nice as well, I sold mine last year and wish I'd kept it.

With so many law enforcement agencies dumping the .40 there is a glut of .40 cal guns in the used market at bargain basement prices. If the Rami was a 9mm $400 might be a good price but as Earl said $300 is about the top end.
I've seen glocks and Sigs in the $300 range and they just sit and collect dust at this point. Well up to a few weeks ago when the madness started anyway.

I wish CZ .40's were selling at bargain basement prices. I don't care for the caliber,  but it would be good to have one in the safe. As soon as CZ got out of the .40 business, prices went up.

I have the chance to buy a CZ compact in 40. Are they known to have problems?

Well up till the nonsense started here in NE OHIO the dealers couldn't give them away. A couple local dealers that I frequent didn't even want them in trade and the range I shoot at would not give more than $100 trade in credit on a .40 no matter what it was. I've wanted a Sig P239 in 9mm for some time now and the range had one a few months back but it was .40. They offered it to me for $250 just to get it out of the case. I passed on it.
Aim Surplus here in Ohio still shows some glock 22 .40 gen2 pistols in stock for $299 and a few other models as well at varying prices but by the time you add shipping and tax plus transfer fees an online order probably wouldn't be a very good deal. One dealer was selling brand new FN .40's for $299 but those are all sold out now.
