Hello, all! I am a proud owner of a CZ 75 Matte Stainless. My Dad bought me the pistol as a gift when I received my Eagle Rank in Scouting. It serves as my favorite pistol, and I can shoot it better than any other in my collection. As can be assumed by the aesthetics of the pistol, I intended for it to be something of a "Baby Bren Ten". I've always been a huge fan of the '80s. The music, the guns, the cars, the styles, etc. Thus, I want my favorite pistol to reflect my favorite era in terms of its aesthetics.
First off, I gave it a lanyard ring and some stainless grip screws, since Crockett's Bren Ten had those features.
The next mod I'm looking at is a replacement hammer. I want to be sure the hammer I have in mind would work in my pistol before I go out and buy one, especially considering they're really hard to find. The one I'm looking for is a Pre-B transitional hammer. The one that has a ring, and is thinner at the base, but more rounded at the top. I've heard the term "shark-toothed" thrown around in reference to the hammer, but I'm not sure what its official nomenclature is. Either way, it looks a lot more like the hammer seen on a Bren Ten than a later-production CZ 75 hammer. If anyone is selling one, please let me know!
I would attach an exemplary picture of the hammer I'm talking about, but I don't know how, as I'm still trying to figure out exactly how this kind of forum works.
I understand the benefit of having an ambidextrous safety, but I'm simply not a fan of the way the one on my Matte Stainless looks. I think CZs always look better if they only have a safety on one side. Same with the Bren Ten. I believe its safety was reversible to the opposite side, but it was still a one-sided safety. Does anyone know of any replacement options that will give me a stainless one-sided safety? I'm right-handed, so it would have to be for the left side of the pistol. I'm not even sure if it's possible to only have a one-sided safety on a Matte Stainless, but if so, I'd very much like to find a way to get one.
Finally, the current trigger fitted in the pistol is a bit too curved for my liking. I've been looking at an "Old Style" Trigger from Cajun Gunworks. Hopefully that one will give me the trigger shape I'm looking for.
Thoughts or comments? Any help in locating specific parts or advice on the project will be much appreciated! Thanks, everyone!
