Gordon's reloading tool

I just found some free reloading software, it’s called Gordon’s reloading tool. They mostly have data on components found in europe but they are trying to build a broader database. They are relying on users to add data on bullets, powders, seating depth, chronograph readings, etc., the more people participate and the better they get. It looks like it has a great potential. I thought a few of you might be interested.

Many thanks!  I have entered a couple of loads where the software has powder data I've used and it is predicting what I chrono'd!  I will continue to test it out.

One should note that these software tools are only able to make ESTIMATES.

They are about as good as the "software models" made by "experts" which predicted 2.2 million US deaths due to Covid-19.


And since this one solicits public input, is little more than fancy-fied load info from the internet.

Yes, one of my concerns would be that people who are not very meticulous might put in some risky data.

I am curious though. Since many of you on this forum keep accurate records, how do your numbers compare with GRT?

Sorry it took me a while to reply. Since covid and social distancing have been in place I’ve never been so busy: Homeschooling my daughter, running my construction business. Who knew teaching first grade to an inattentive child could be so hard! Oh and my range reopened so I was there Sat and Sunday.
So I took a couple of  the load test to compare with Gordon reloading tool (GRT) results. One from wobbly and one from Idescribe. I tried entering the parameters  the best I could. Unless I screwed up the comparisons are not very close.

Wobbly’s  (W):
Precision Delta 125gr JHP Win 231

3.9gr     W: 954 fps   GRT: 1052fps   33293 PSI
4.0gr     W: 968         GRT: 1068      65006 PSI
4.1gr     W 995          GRT  1084     36776
4.2gr     W 1029        GRT  1099     38605 PSI  KABOOM!
4.3gr     W  1053       GRT   1115    36776 PSI
4.4gr     W  1078       GRT  1130     42445 PSI  Higher than +P, those CZ’s are built strong!

Idescribe (ID)
Hornady 115gr  HAP  N320

4.0gr       ID:1061 FPS      GRT:  1144fps      32372PSI
4.2gr       ID  1059             GRT    1182         36726 PSI   They say press charge.
4.3gr       ID  1097              GRT    1201         39061 PSI
4.4gr       ID  1123              GRT   1220           41508PSI
4.5gr       ID 1134               GRT   1238           44072 PSI

I wonder if they got the case capacity wrong.  Idescribe did you compress the charges?

It's all about light. Amount of light. Angle of light. Since none of the factory data for W231 goes over ~1060, I'd say you might want to re-think this.

When did PD come out with 125s? or did they all weigh over 124.5?
