527 30mm scope mount
« on: May 21, 2020, 01:48:17 PM »
need suggestions for mounting a 30mm scope with 50mm objective.

What is better, a DIP rail and regular 30mm rings or  527 specific rings and why.  I realize people will have different opinions on this, but would like to hear
why you arrived at the decision you did.

Thx
Rick

I can't address your question directly as I've never used a 30mm tube scope. But a third option you might look into is using Tikka 16.5 mm rings as an option. You have to remove the rings recoil lug but some people are reporting good results. The Tikka rifles are becoming fairly popular and the ring options are increasing.

I have the DIP rail on my 527 carbine's 7.62x39 and .223 but I'm only using 1" tube scopes. Just my opinion but I believe you'd be better of with the DIP rail because you have so many ring choices available almost like lego's, build it like you like it. Plus the fact that CZ rings are expensive and to me heavy. I use the DIP rail with a Vortex crossfire II scope 2-7x32 with low redfield rings and it fits perfect.

after a little research I ordered a DIP rail.  Once the scope gets here I can determine what rings I need. I have Nightforce rings on my AR, but don't want to spend that much on this, but don't want to 'cheap out' either.  Thinking Warne or maybe a low end Vortex set

I use the Warne QD rings on most of my scoped rifles.

I've had great success with Leupold rifleman rings $20 or Redfield $20 both are inexpensive but work very well.
