Sticky PCR
« on: May 25, 2020, 11:21:31 PM »
My PCR has a problem. Twice now it has jammed with a round out of battery. The live round gets stuck, not fully chambered. Have to beat on the slide to eject it.

It's been scubbed clean and lubed. My other CZs don't have this issue.

Any suggestions before i call CZ?

Perhaps the ammo is not to spec.

New PCR or used?
Does it happen with every ammo? Did you test it with more than one mag?
There is a few reasons of failure to feed. Try to eliminate them one by one.
1. different ammo
2. other magazines
3. loose extractor

Sometimes easy tapping the mag before inserting will help. Tap it on the bench from ammo primers side.

Just so we are on the same page here are you saying the round fails to fully chamber with the slide just slightly out of battery?  CZ's have notoriously short chambers but I've never seen one that wouldn't function just fine with the typical range ammo like Blazer Brass, Remington UMC and so on. Typically the issue arises with reloads not properly "plunk tested" and adjust for the specific pistol or from certain bullet ogives that just won't mate with the CZ chamber.
So the first thing we need to know is what ammo are you using?

Yes, when this happens, the round goes most of the way in the chamber then jams up hard.

Was shooting Blazer Brass this time. Got about 5 rounds off before jamming up.

The gun has less than 500 rnds through it. It 1st happened at less than 100 rounds.

Got a rami and p-01 with a 1000 rounds through them with no issues.

Well if that's the case I'd call CZ-USA and let them handle it. My own PCR has over 15,000 rnds down the tube and never fails. Could be an out of spec chamber

knoxy:

The only single issue my PCR has experienced is with one, specific brand of ammo:

"Forged", by Winchester. This is also the same brand of (the worst type o)f ammo which also caused he First problems with the well-known guy on The Military Arms Channel.
