CZ USA Bren 2 MS 922r Stock Kit Available
« on: June 22, 2020, 11:51:44 AM »
Looks like it has just been made available on the CZ USA webstore. This parts kit is for the 5.56 version. Take a look.

Edit: After speaking with CZ USA, there will be a 7.62x39 parts kit available in the future. Additionally we should expect the glorious waffle-maker stocks in the future.

Temporary. The first batch has sold out. The listing will be up again when the orders are invoiced, that way you can sign up for in-stock notifications.

From CZ USA: The kit includes the stock, a handguard, receiver side rails, disconnector and operating rod sub assembly. Looking at the photos it appears the handguard is different from the stock Bren 2 MS handguard, it even appears to have more M Lok slots. Additionally the 7.62x39 version will require US made magazines (Whether they mean an entirely US made magazine or followers/base plates I am unsure of) and a muzzle device.

Correct. Also just a reminder to check out the LE/MIL program for those who qualify.

Did anyone here get one of these kits ordered during the brief moment it was available?

CZ needs to get their act together and get these kits over here in multiple caliber configurations asap as well as spare parts and magazines for the Bren 2.

Does this kit include a 16” or + barrel to turn a pistol into a rifle?

Otherwise, I’m not seeing much point to  going to the trouble of complying with 922r:

Unfortunately,  the 922R kit does not include a barrel. The kit is for either going from a pistol to SBR or pin/weld a 14 inch barrel pistol to rifle.

How about the ability to use the proper CZ stock instead of retrofitting some other gun’s stock or even worse, a cheesy AR 15 Buffer tube style pistol brace. That’s a good enough reason for me.

Technically, you also have to use a 922r kit if you SBR your Bren 2, because you're legally manufacturing a new "rifle."

922r is aimed primarily at importers and firearm manufacturers. For CZUSA to legally sell the stocks in the US they have to provide a 922r compliance kit with it, otherwise it looks like this to ATF:

CZUSA imports and sells longarms in pistol configuration to get around 922r. CZUSA sells stocks to those same customers that CZUSA couldn't legally attach without turning pistols to rifles and violating 922r.

(Excitement for pet shooting and home burning intensifies.)

Yeah, I'm not seeing much reason to buy a 922r kit, just for the pleasure of jumping through a bunch of hoops and putting my name front and center before the BATF for an SBR. The pistol accomplishes everything I need for an 11" barrel without all the hassle. Even if I wanted to go to the trouble to pin a 14" barrel to rifle length, such spare parts are not even available yet.

I'm confused by that last part. What do you mean by "Even if I wanted to go to the trouble to pin a 14" barrel to rifle length, such spare parts are not even available yet?"

I am trying to understand this because this is what I'm looking to do. If I buy a 14" Bren 2 MS and install the 922r kit, I can then pin/weld a proper length flash hider to get to 16"+ and then it's a compliant rifle, right? Can I use any flash hider?
