And this is why I used a Kadet for bullseye matches
« on: June 24, 2020, 05:17:17 PM »
Hadn't shot it in a while, had a few minutes, so I put up a target at 25 yards and shot 50 rounds from a wrist rest, before stopping to go see the target.  This went well.  With a little more practice, I could tighten this up a little.   :) :)

I can shoot the Kadet well because it fits me and the trigger is what works for me.  And the barrel is fixed to the sight.  And its a CZ.

Great shooting!  Is that a b-6 target? I plan on shooting next week and found a stash of b-16 and b-6 centers to try. B-6 is for 50 yds ? Been a long time since I shot bulls eye.

50 rounds and you only put 3 holes in the paper! Keep practicing.

Yep, I smiled twice.  Moved 2 shots a little distance away from the others!

The fellow shooting the 10-22 at 50 yards in the next lane got a kick out of my target.  I told him, "this is why I consider myself a pistol shooter rather than a rifleman."  I shot four larger groups at 100 yards with the AR-15.  Much larger.

I am going to try the Savage .22 rifle tomorrow.  Might order a CZ .22 on Friday if it doesn't go well.   :) :)

A little bigger.  No 25m targets, here are two 25yd standing single hand from last year during practice.  But, since you ask...

I usually shoot 3 or 4 Kadet 100's per year out of maybe 100-200 targets, maybe 1 with the centerfire pistols.

Here is the only 10x I've ever been able to shoot, but it was with the Kadet.  I didn't set up the video gear before shooting this.  That is probably why I was able to shoot it.

And they say a .22 Conversion can't compete with a dedicated .22 Target Pistol ! ! !   ;)

I was never Joe quality but sold my really nice SW41 because my Kadet shot better.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I started with a Ruger 22/45 and still have it as a backup/loaner/trainer pistol.  Loaned it to a fellow at the range last week to try, since he had a Mk III but didn't like the grip angle.  With enough Volquartzen parts, my 22/45 shoots fine, but it didn't cycle reliably for me, and the Kadet on a 75B just felt better in my hands, so I switched after one season with the Ruger.  I think I shot 12 matches in a row without a single problem (alibi) with the Kadet.

Hey Joe, didn't you also ditch your SIG 226 .22 Conversion after you got your KADET ?

It's always fun to out shoot some "Thurston" with his HiStandard or S&W Victory, with nothing more than a "Pinker" Pistol   ::)

Yes.  I still have it in a big baggie some where with the plastic magazines.  The slide with the sights cycled with the barrel pinned to the frame, so, with the generous clearances needed to allow the full size aluminum slide to cycle, the barrel versus sight alignment changed from shot to shot.  I think I bagged it up after one range trip with the Kadet conversion on my 75B.  I think that was 9 years ago, something like that.

Maybe I'll cut it up with the Savage rifle in a few weeks.   :) :)

I've wanted to do that with several guns. Fortunately they were not mine. Had to charge double for the extra grief. Lol

To Joe L.

For your most accurate Kadet platform, how is it configured? 75B DA/SA or 75 SA-only? Original Kadet or Kadet II or something else?

Most accurate ammo? Standard velocity, High velocity or sub-sonic rounds?

New to the Kadet and curious.

Thanks, Ed.

Edit: I didn't catch it at first but the one big hole was made using Norma-USA TAC-22. Now I can live with that price range ;D

I bought a standard 75B in 9mm, maybe 8 years ago.  Then I bought the Kadet kit specifically for the 75B frame.  This is the all steel, $400, .22 conversion.  The 9mm slide wasn't very accurate due to a loose fit barrel bushing.  I pretty much put the 9mm slide aside and left the Kadet kit on the 75B frame.  I converted it to SAO myself and added some CGW hammer and sear parts.

I added a picatinny rail section from Academy Sports to the top of the Kadet slide, me drilling and tapping the holes after removing the barrel, using a drill press.  Put the Microdot red dot on that rail.  Shot the gun a few times with the new red dot, put my current bullseye match gun in the safe and started shooting the Kadet conversion 75B in all the bullseye matches from that time on.  I've used Norma Tac22 and Match ammo in the pistol exclusively for many years.  I use the Match at 50 yards, and the Tac 22 at 25 yards.

The original 75B 9mm slide got a CGW 10x bushing a few years ago and it is now just as accurate as my P-09 and P-10F pistols, and is my backup for a 97B"E" for centerfire bullseye matches.
