Early issues with the P10 series
« on: June 26, 2020, 01:58:22 PM »
Was watching a livestream of questions from Small Arms Solutions last week, and Chris said that when he had his sample of the P10C, he had a few instances of feeding issues and a few light strikes. In addition I did hear of some type of mag release button issue with the first generation of P10C's.

I'm not trying to cause a stir. I've fired a buddy's P10F, but that's only been a two time occurrence so my trigger time on that platform is limited. I don't own a P10 either, and I'm more familiar with the CZ-75, which has been flawless with the 1200+ rounds I've put through my 75B so far.

I've never had any luck getting this forums search bar to work. Ironically I had my first light strikes with my P10c this week after a year of owning it. It was WWB FMJ.

I have one of the earliest production P-10C pistols.  If you are that interested in YouTube videos, then perhaps you will be interested in a few of my P-10C videos.  Mine has been pretty good over the last few years.  But it is only good for 4-1/2" five shot groups at 100 yards.  My kind of early production pistol problem.

And the P-10F and P-10S are dogs, too.  I have only been able to shoot one sub 3" group at 100 yards with the P-10S.  What's up with that?  Didn't CZ learn anything from the C model?   :) :)

I never had a light strike with WWB, but I know it burns dirty compared to some other ammo, and I have found a loose bullet (not cartridge, bullet) inside a bulk box of cartridges before.  I was expecting to find a cartridge in there missing its bullet, but no.  I'm pretty sure somebody bought a box with a cartridge that had no bullet from that same batch.

I`ve had my CZ P10-F just over a year now. Bought it in May 2019.

I have fired Geco 124grain FMJ Ball Ammo, Magtech 124grain and 115grain Ball FMJ and S&B 124 Grain Ball FMJ. No issues what so ever.

Never had a failure to feed or any other issue.

I have also not chainged anything on that pistol. So all springs and the trigger are stock as she came out of the CZ plant in CZ.

If anyone is having issues using the search function here on the forums try using google or another search engine and include "czfirearms.us" in your search text.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

If you format your search string like this:

p10 light strikes site:czfirearms.us

It will limit your search results down to only those from the specified site.

I know the early P10C’s had a issue that was called striker rotation.  A YouTube search will give detailed info on it. It was fixed in subsequent models. Those models have a tiny cut out on the back plate.

The ambi mag release in early models was difficult to operate. Unusually difficult compared to other guns. It would get  better over time but not much. I swamped mine out with a Apex non ambi release which made it much easier to operate.

They now are non ambi mag release from the factory.

Can the non ambi mag release be ordered from CZ to prevent that on the original model?

No, they aren't interchangeable.

Rusty--The original P10C mag release was very stiff out of the box.  Mine loosened up to the point of not being an issue after some range trips.  I never took it apart and polished anything, I don't even notice it now.  I only have had one P-10C but others have reported theirs loosened up just fine after use.  Everyone agrees it was too rough in the original design as delivered, however.

Remove the slide. Remove the striker. Use a cotton ear swab to clean the "striker well" at the extreme end near the bolt face. Trash can accumulate on the business-end of the striker, and the hole it sits in.
