Nice work! How many hours do you think you have into this? Were there any surprises along the way you could warn us about?
Yes, several lessons learned.
1) You need a good punch set to get out the 40 year old pins.
2) You need to be good to the wife so you can do the breakdown on the dinning room table instead of the 90 degree shop in the garage, because you need to have operating room like organization.
3) Bags for parts, tools at hand, clean work area, and a camera on a tripod to capture the moments.
4) You need a magnet on a stick to get the firing pin spring when it launches out of the frame and heads into orbit or in my case, straight at the dog.
5) Punch set, Paint remover, 400 grit sandpaper, small hammer, needle nose, fine wire brush, wire brush on a grinder
6) Instructions that I had via a Youtube video that I kept stopping, backing up....
I think that does it so far
