I need to vent.
« on: July 27, 2020, 02:02:55 PM »
I'm so mad right now!  Can someone confirm if TX is not shipping to NY ffl's?  Over the weekend I managed to order a cz p-10s optics ready online and then today they canceled my order stating they aren't shipping to ny currently because of some ban.  I call bs,  they had a banner months ago on their website but that's long gone.  I have a feeling they over sold... Roarrrrr!  I know other cz owners here understand my pain.... They are so hard to find..... And to have it ordered and paid for.... I had a feeling it was too good to be true lol

My guess would be magazine capacity restrictions. The SAFE Act limits capacity to 7 rounds, if I'm not mistaken. It would be unlawful to ship higher capacity magazines to NY.

Who is the shipper?  Did you find one with 10 round mags? And the mag limit in NY is 10 rounds not 7.
Let's go Brandon!

Good for New York, having that 10 round magazine limit. I’m sure the criminals are adhering to that very sensible law.  ::)  ;D

Tcp is right about limits.

New York limits any person to putting seven rounds of ammunition into a magazine, unless the person is at an incorporated firing range or competition recognized by the National Rifle Association or International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association, in which case the limit is ten rounds.Oct 23, 2018

If he ordered handgun which doesn't comply with restriction, nobody is going to send to NY FFL.

I've got the same in Cook County, IL and few cities around me.

Dude the bs you are smelling is because you live in the Bull. No one will ship to you unless everything is complaint.
your 2nd amendment right is being infringed in a gigantic way. Voting will be your only hope right now.

New York.....7 rounds......that makes sense
ship covid patients to rest homes for the elderly.....that makes sense

It's not about mag limits in this situation.  So at the range or any shooting activity the limit is 10 but while carrying it's 7 in the mag and one in the pipe if you choose to.  That's my understanding. But the email I got straight up said ny is not allowing us to ship any firearms to any ffl's in your state.  But I'm currently having another firearm shipped with no issues but that company is in another state so that may make a difference? I've ordered from them before with no issues but all their cz p-10 c/s sell out really quick...

There is no restriction between the states. Limitation is on receiving site ONLY.

Either the handgun you ordered didn't comply or they just told you BS.  ???
Or... you didn't pass background check?  ;D

Likely they don’t want to deal with an AG that has set a precedent of suing vendors in other states.

They can’t win the case, but they can spend the vendor’s on defense attorneys.

Be mad at NY, not the vendor.

BTW-how magnanimous of them to allow 10 rounds at a certified range at matches Sanctioned by a couple of select organizations.

Yes it was gag,  I've ordered from them a bunch of times with no issues.  Early in the pandemic they did have a banner on their site saying they can't ship to certain states but that was removed long ago.  And yes the mag limit is totally dumb,  makes zero sense.  And yes while ny gun laws suck CA is worse and don't some states have rules where if you carry it has to be totally unloaded?  Anyways I guess it will be another year before I get a chance to buy another cz p-10...

This is off Google, can someone confirm?
Firearms that are openly carried must be unloaded (North Dakota requires openly carried handguns to be unloaded; Iowa, Tennessee, and Utah require openly carried long guns to be unloaded).

I'm not a lawyer but I think North Dakotas law is if you don't have a CCW and you are openly in possession of a handgun then it must be unloaded and only between certain hours etc.

Saying what you have isn't as bad as what someone else has doesn't make what you have good. If I owned a gun store it would be hockey season in He!! before I'd ship to New York.
