This is my first CZ, really liked shooting the 75 SP-01 which got me interested in the CZ. Was looking for a home defense weapon- daily carry is a Springfield Hellcat, opposite end of the spectrum.

Looking at a few minor upgrades for those that have the P-10 C or F. I would like to get a light for the front as it’ll be my home defense weapon. Not looking to break the bank but want something easy to use and bright.

How many have gone with upgraded grip tape- like Talon?

Finally has anyone used the CZ Custom optics plate? This is the one that replaces the rear sight? I didn’t get an optics ready P-10 and I’m not too worried about having a backup sight for home defense and range play. Anyone with their rear sight plate adaptor just wondering if there is anything I should know. Not looking to do this immediately, want to get to know the firearm stock for a bit. Always looking for optics to recommendation though- again not break the bank, focus on home defense and range play.

Excited to join the family! Thanks all

Congratulations! My .02 will be limited to lights.

I’ve got the Streamlight TLR-7 and  Olight PL-2 Mini Valkyrie, shown below mounted on my Glock 45 and Beretta PX4 Compact, along with pics of them inside and outdoors.

I like them both, but between this specific pair lean more to the Olight, as it’s easier to switch it as necessary between my various pistols (quick release lever and sliding adjustment), and I prefer it’s white light cast over the TLR-7’s yellowish tint (my other Streamlights cast white light, however).

One item that seems to be a point of contention for some, is the energy source;  Olight has a non-removable battery that is recharged via an included USB cord (just need something to plug it in to), whereas the Streamlight uses batteries. For normal, everyday use I’ve plenty of access to electricity sources for charging. Now, if I were to be in a “worse case situation”, I’ll take the Streamlight without hesitation. But, considering it’s been almost three decades since I’ve been in that kind of situation, I’m not going to sweat the small stuff. But, I digress… LOL

Something else to consider is that currently, it seems like holster availability is greater with the Streamlight, so that may be a major pro/con for you. Truth be told though, I honestly don’t think you wouldn’t be served well with either of them if these were your only choices, and there’s LOTS to choose from out there. Good luck!

I run a P-07 for CCW and HD with an Olight PL-Mini 2 and Talon grips.  This works great for my purposes.

If I ran a P-09 or a P-10F I would probably look at one of Olight's full-size lights like the PL-Pro or the PL-2.  I would also get Talon grips for a P-09, but the P-10 series has more aggressive grip texture so maybe it wouldn't be necessary for a P-10F?

EDIT:  I used to run a Streamlight TLR-7 but decided those original switches were not to my liking.  From what I have seen of the revised models I would probably be happy with those switches, and the light output and mounting system etc. were alright for me.  I actually prefer the easily replaceable CR123 over a non-replaceable rechargeable battery solution that will eventually burn itself out and become worthless after some number of years.

So after a ton of research and found a pretty good deal I opted for the steamlight TLR-8 (light with RED laser). The cost difference was like $30 all said and done to add the laser so I opted for that. Now I have to find a holster (OWB) for it. Looks like Black Rhino Concealment has well received holders and have options for the specific light/laser in question. Won’t be trying to conceal this bad boy so beyond this and something with some Velcro on the back to attach to my bedside plate from Crossbreed it should be good.

I won’t be getting any grips until I feel the stock texture of the P-10. My concern was hearing that people get ripped up by the stock blackstrap texture- ie too rough. I will also have to wait to confirm which size blackstrap I will be using.

If you have the wrong size backstrap installed, the texture can be unpleasant (especially when the grip is too small). With the correct size, the texture is aggressive, but not painful. (for me, the worst texture was the first version XD-series pistols before they went "Grip Zone")

If you find it is still too aggressive, it it much easier to tone the grips down with fine sandpaper than it would be to tone them up if not aggressive enough.
