I am starting to entertain the idea of getting some formal training. So, I started to put together a belt. I wanted to use Safariland QLS system but I could not find any Safariland holster for my CZ75 BD. I also wanted thumb release retention because I am not too confident with the Blackhawk serpa holster. I bought it several years ago.
So I ended up with a Hogue owb holster. I got another holster for my P09 as well. So far I like them, but I still wanted a quick detachment system like the QLS. So, I found out that Comp-tac / High speed gear makes a similar system called SQR. Please note that the Hogue holsters uses M4 screws and t -nuts. The SQR uses 8-32 screws and retainer nuts.

The SQR system added a little over 1/2" thickness.
The Hogue holster comes with a spacer that provide some canting. I did not like it so I made a new one by gluing three sheets of kydex material I have around.
Here is a view of the other half of the SQR system. Left: Blackhawk mid drop belt plate. Right: Hogue belt plate. No modification done. The BlackHawk mid drop plate provides some canting and position the gun about 3/4" away from your body.
Holster attached into the belt. I will see which one will work for me.
