P-09 question
« on: August 03, 2020, 10:33:06 AM »
Just bought a "New"P-09 suppressor ready. Does not have suppressor height sights and has older style magazines. Looked up the SKU on the CZ website and it's listed as discontinued as of 2016. Did they make enough of them to keep suppliers stocked for 4+ years? or did I buy a used gun marked new? SKU on mine is 80670391640.

And where did you buy it? (if it's something you can share). Store purchase or private sell?
Perhaps the seller found it recently hidden somewhere in the farthest corner of the storage?
Hard to tell if you bought used or not, but definitely it was not "new" from production perspective.

There is one "factory new" available on GunBroker... so somehow they exist.... :)

I was still seeing the DUTY P07's new in the box at gun shows last year.  I think they quit making those 7 or 8 years ago.

I saw those standard sighted "suppressor ready" pistols at several gun shows and just shook my head.  The only thing I could figure was they expected some people would either want to put a red dot on their pistol and have taller back up sights installed or that people would prefer to pick/choose an aftermarket set of sights for their pistol.

See it here all the time, "What's the best set of aftermarket sights for my new CZ pistol?"  That gets several different suggestions and reasons why the person suggesting them likes them better than others.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Bought it from a gun shop. I called CZ and gave them my serial number. They told me that the gun was imported into the United States 09/2019. So at least I know it was new as of 11 months ago. Wondering how long it takes to get from "Imported" to a gunshop showroom?

Dovetail protectors.;)

I think CZ sometimes over produces. I bought a new 07 in .40 shipped from a distributor in ‘19 that was ‘14 production.

Some models don't move as fast as others. SR without tall sights is one of them. P-09 9mm with manual safety only (no decocker parts supplied) is another.

That's interesting...
Anyway. How this model is "suppressor ready"? We know it came with standard sights, but what about the barrel. Does it have thread?
Catalog description says: "Adding a longer barrel threaded 1/2×28, the P-09 makes an ideal suppressor host."

That model is black finish with a threaded barrel, but standard height sights. A couple of the dealers in Crook County had them, but they weren't fast movers.

Let me know if you're looking for suppressor height sights. Mine came with them (night sights), but removed them when I had Primary Machine mill the slide for a Leupold DPP optic sight. Rather than back up iron sigths, I have a couple backup 2032 batteries in my pocket. I removed the factory sights before shipping to PM for the DPP install.
