Cleaning and lubricating products for guns are gonna be a different answer for EVERYONE. Everyone has their love, likes and dislikes for many different reasons.
You could also spend TONS of $$ on cleaning/lubricating products based off people's opinions (I've bought everything under the sun based off others LOL)
Also what one person likes - another will detest and tell you they either had a problem with it or heard a buddies Glock 17 fell apart cuz of it.
Lots of good products out there......you don't need to spend an arm and a leg...shoot some people will recommend you make your own from stuff you buy at Wal-mart.
My current stable -
I like Slip 2000 products (mostly 725 Gun Cleaner I use in ultrasonic and EWL for lube but have used/own everyone of their products) - sign up for newsletter and every major holiday they have big discount coupons.
I love Break-free CLP - I've been moving to this more and more...I get HUGE jug and then fill up little needlers and other bottles.
I have greases from like 8 different companies based off people's recommendations - but I find myself not using them very often.
Similar to Slip 2000 is MPro7 stuff - I mostly have only used their cleaner and not oils though.
If you use a water-based cleaner...like the ones from Slip2000, Mpro7, etc - or you ultrasonic clean - just remember that you will need to oil up that part good after.
Also stay away from Simple Green - GREEN regular stuff.....some people will tell you that they have used it for generations and it is fine...but regular simple green eats aluminum (or so I've read on the interwebs)...if you want to use simple green - you get the purple
https://simplegreen.com/products/pro-hd-cleaner-degreaser/ and dilute it. This is safe for alloy/aluminum.
I like to stay in the realm of things made for what I am doing - for gun cleaning/lubing - I buy gun cleaning/lubing stuff...sure you can get cheaper by getting a 10 gallon of Crud Cutter and couple quarts of Mobil 1 ...but that isn't me...but again there is a guy out their doing just that shooting 10x the amount I do and his guns are running like a top. So try out some stuff - but don't go crazy wasting your money like some of us have...save that $$ for the ammo you gonna shoot through your RAMI.
I know in the gun world this is blasphemy but I
hate HOPPES - I don't like anything that smells when I'm cleaning my guns - and I wouldn't want that %#*%&$ touching me...but others have sworn by it for a LONG TIME.
