My experience installing the "new" Kadet II
« on: August 12, 2020, 11:10:13 PM »
Before installation, I saw a great many people say that the Kadet II kit required very little fitting. A few strokes here, a few strokes there, and it's good to go. I can only assume that these testimonies were only for the older-style of Kadet IIs because my experience was certainly not like that. To get the long front rail to fit in my SP-01 suppressor ready, I had to do a lot of filing. I couldn't tell you how many, but hundreds of one-way strokes per side with a metal file I picked up at Ace Hardware. I only filed the sides of the rails, not the tops or bottoms. There were points at which I felt discouraged and worried about over-filing. Granted, I did over-file the lower half of the right rail by a little bit (the railed ended up slightly slanted), but the left rail is perfect and the top half of the right rail is too.

Afterwards, there were metal shavings everywhere. I'm still concerned about shavings in the nooks and crannies of the slide that could cause wear. But, on the bright side, it slides in just a hair more snugly than the 9mm slide, so the final product is good. I am excited to shoot my Kadet on the cheap now that I've sold most of my 9mm for the going market rate.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone was looking for an experience fitting the new-style, long-rail Kadet II kit. Don't be discouraged! YMMV

Same for me lol took me a long time or filing to get it to fit without making it too loose.

Yeah, I can see how there WOULD be more filing needed to fit THAT Kit into an SP-01 Frame

But now ....
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

Not sure how to insert images directly...

I put in the CGW Pro Kit last week, and I'm waiting on my LOK grips. It's a sweet shooter! Eager to see how it shoots .22 lr.

When you click on the image in Imgur, there are several options. Copy the BBCode (message boards & forums).

Nice looking set up, thank you for the pic.

Looks GREAT
Just hope that it won't give you fits with lite strikes after the CGW install

To no-one's surprise, it did light strike today with the 15# hammer spring shooting Federal BYOB Champion. Probably one light strike every 10 shots. I am going to buy a few recoil springs next time I'm at Ace Hardware. It's a great shooter, though! Love the adjustability of the Kadet II rear sights.

if you add width=900 or width=1000 to the image tag, it will size it more reasonably to fit the screen

Eastman's right ....but remember:
You have to add a space between the g in the first [img] and the width=
i.e.  [img width=950]
You'll have to "trial and error" it until you find the right number for your pics
99% of mine work fell with either 950 or 1000
