Primer protrusion might not be a sign of pressure.  Extruded primers can just be a result of too much clearance on the bolt face to the firing pin.  I don't run AR/military primers but I do try to run the CCI450 variant as they seem to have a harder primer cup.

I don't think I've seen what you are describing with the center poking back out as opposed to a ridge around the firing pin dimple.  I'm wondering if the primer cup is sticking to the firing pin?

Cheers,
Toby

My most used tripod is a Manfrotto with the squeeze grip ball-head attached (I think the head was a good bit more expensive than the tripod). It uses quick release plates.

like this one - https://www.manfrotto.com/us-en/grip-ball-head-ergonomic-handle-and-friction-control-wheel-322rc2/

Wow, What a day... this build has started to convince me.
no wind, bipod and rear bag helped me land these hits on steel effortlessly - besides hand feeding due to mags left at home.
I feel pretty confident I could have scored hits at 600 and then tried tor 750, but we were running out of time.
I'll say this, my 224 Wylde upper will be collecting dust and I have a box of 223 brass that I'm not going to waste primers on.
Have 500 more starline cases on the way hopefully in a coupe of weeks. My next load will be 28.6 of leverLoution. I was getting ~2600 fps for those loads #3/4 in the lower left corner.

Still waiting for my barrel...

They indicated that I could swap for a 22 inch if there are leftover barrels after they fill their backorders.  I told them whatever gets me a barrel fastest (I ordered a 20 inch).

I shot a 1/2 inch group with my Grendel this weekend with Viht N133 and 100 gr TTSX at about 2550 fps.  I am going to continue working on that load to see if it can be pushed faster.

uuuggg... I feel for you dude. hope everything works out.
That's good grouping with the Grendle. My pistol smith shoots his grendle out to 1k and seemed unimpressed with my initial load development/still newb and It's good to hear honest comparisons.

I saw my LGS had a Seekins in 6mm ARC and about 1k rounds. They wouldn’t pair the two and stuck to their three box limit or I would’ve been all in on it. I’m hopeful that this is accepted widely. Hornady really put a lot of work in on the front end to help get this adopted.

More results today. I started by confirming windage/elevation at 100, then moved over to 200/300 easily. Confirmed hits at 500 and then got over to the 600/750 targets.
Went a couple rounds at 600 and 750 and was able to hit std silhouette target steel around the beltline area at 750 using the BDC reticle. I tried for 1k, but did not confirm hit, so went back to 750 and 600.

I started looking at what I needed with loadin the ARC round on the D650

Mostly I would need the A shellplate and #1 station locator. then the orange modified shell dropper and etc.. all base off the 6.5 Grendle round.

Called my goto blue source and he said all caliber conversions are gonn excepty maybe 44mag.

He also said it would be around 6 months or so for that type of stuffl. Crazy!
I think I'll just wait until things settle down.
If I could just find the shellplate and locator pins, I could at least prime/powder drop an seat on the Dillon.

Ohh well, it is what it is..

More results.  I worked up to and hit the 1k sighter plate. I was using 4x zoom and BDC hold with no spotter so doing well just to get impacts. I had some other hits earlier on another string as well, but I couldn't confirm them until I painted all suspected hits up and went again for confirmation.
I also had a new lower that fit much tighter which might have helped groups a tad more.

results at 600 and 750 were also pretty great for me! next time, I'm going with paper targets so I can put the 600 and 750yd AR-15 groups on the wall in garage.

BONUS: Got to anneal a bunch of brass on the AMP annealer!

Surely that and the new mandrel dies will reduce groups 1/2"...
The 750 yard group started with hits on big sighter plate at the bottom. Moved to the small silouette and had to hold the bottom post over the body of the target. (Effectively using the bottom post and aiming 12" over the head). That dropped 3/4 shots in a nice little group.

I did have a couple misses on this group but DANG!

The main takeaway was more windage is needed for 1k, you CAN shoot 1k with 4x (it's difficult, but doable), Next time I will dial for elevation more as opposed to zooming out and using BDC reticle. I trust the return to zero on the Zoom more than I do on the actual Zero (cheap $150 Nikon Buckmaster hunting scope).

So I couldn't completely follow your blog post but my buddy just purchased a ATN scope and we went out to play with it a couple of weeks ago.  Essentially you just enter the bullet BC and velocity and then zero the rifle at whatever distance.  Once zero'd, you can just change the distance your shooting in the scope and it will adjust the turrets for you at that distance.  It is super convenient and with his rifle it was dead on at 250yds (zero'd at 100).  I am contemplating purchasing one for a fun gun/maybe hunting rig.

The video recording is actually super cool and is one of the reasons I want one.

Cheers,
Toby

Maybe I'm doing something wrong or remembering it wrong but when zeroed for 100, then changing the zero distance to 300, my shot was like 1.5 feet low, telling me that zero did not carry over.

The Ballistic calculator however does work with different distances. I'll need to read up and I have a few ideas on how to get it working.
The range has a 600 yd match this sat, the CM is spot on at 600 but out of ammo. the 6ARC has plenty of ammo but I don't trust the scope at 600 yet. its a 2 hour drive with no pre-match adjustments - doh! I'll get there eventually..

Just got confirmation that my barrel shipped!  Looks like I will be working up some loads for the Arc soon.

It only took 9 months!?!  It better be a shooter!

Toby

Got the 6 Arc upper built and loaded my first rounds.   I'm going to break it in with Varget and Sierra 107gr match bullets.

Maybe this weekend I will have some initial results?

Cheers,
Toby

Ahhh I just saw this. Congrats buddy!
I made some brass yesterday. Piles(small for now) over here...
I skipped on shooting long range 600-1k to make brass. First time ever fire forming and loading at the range like the F class guys.
What powder?

Also shot these pistols at 25/50/75/100 yds.

There was a younger guy there you could tell was just getting into shooting. Had a CZ 457 or something that shot AK rounds. I told him I'm a fan of CZ and he stroked me like Fred Sanford when he showed me his SP-01 with fancy blue grips appendix carry - WOW! He had it done by CGW. I was about floored, this kid looked like a grocer bagger or programmer - LOL ..CZ.. all kinds...
