Posting Polls?

The answer is obvious. The Pols and the Czechs haven't always been compatible.

Try adding a poll to this thread. If it doesn’t work I’ll see if the IT Admin can look at your settings.

OK, so I posted a poll in the general file, as you can see above at the top of this thread (followed your instructions, but of course, here on the general forum there is a "add poll" option which does not exist on the Bren 2 forum).

Maybe your IT person can rectify this on the Bren 2 forum and possubly move this poll over to the Bren 2 forum, as well.

I looked over things and did a couple tests and think what's causing this confusion is:
Non-administrators can only create polls in new topics or topics that they originally authored.  If another user started the topic, non-admins can't create a poll in it.

This setting can be changed, but I do see the logic of not letting everyone add polls to posts that they didn't author.

So, I'd see the solutions as being:
- Create a new topic for the poll
- If you really want the poll added to an existing topic that you didn't start, ask an admin

OK, that sounds reasonable. Will give that a try. Would have been good to know before.
