Bump Stocks Get New Life as Federal Court Agrees to Rehear Case
« on: September 11, 2020, 02:04:38 PM »
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit gave bump stocks new life last week when they ruled to vacate a previous decision that upheld a ban on the devices.
A 2-1 panel of the same court had previously upheld the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms’ (ATF) decision to classify bump stocks as “machine guns.” But now, after a majority of non-recused active judges voted in favor, the Denver-based court has agreed to rehear the case en banc before the full 12-judge panel.

What a waste of time. Why would anyone argue a case for these things.

Bump stocks are only useful to wildly spray a bunch of bullets, indiscriminately.

So if an angry mob was charging you to cause you harm or kill you and/or your family, you wouldn’t want every legal advantage over that mob to protect yourself and family?

If the angry mob was typical of the anarchy we have seen recently, defending yourself could be in violation of some unwritten 'summer of love' law backed up by elected officials.

There is a reason the M-16 went with selective fire.

Bump stocks have not been used, to my knowledge, for any faux situation you dreamt. They are just a waste of ammo and a danger to others.  If a person cannot protect themselves with a simple auto-loader, then maybe they are not much qualified to be using that weapon, no matter how much it is modified.
