I was just at bruno's and they wanted 100 per k for cci450s and 120 per k for cci41s.  They also had federal large rifle for 100 per k.
Ouch. It sure is nice to have a Bass Pro in town. I've never seen them charge more than retail for ammo or primers, even during this shortage. And they have usually been under retail.

When time travel is perfected, I'm taking you whipper snappers back to 1991, so you can buy a box of Norinco .223 (brass-cased) and steel core 7.62x39 for $.99/box o' 20 for yourselves!

I was there. Wouldn't buy that chin junk then anymore than I'd buy that crap now. But at least back then the quality stuff was reasonably priced. Primers were still $5.99/1000 and powder was about the same per pound.

Except back then we didn't realize just how reasonable it was...

Some of us saw it coming. I'm not affected nearly as bad by the cost of ammo and reloading components like so many others are. I stocked up for a rainy day.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, lesson learned the hard way for me.

Norinco .223 ran pretty well in my equally cheap PWA - HBAR back then.  7.62 stuff ran well in my polytech AK & norinco mak-90 & sks.  No dirtier than Privi or Igman as I recall.

You miss the point here. I don't care how good it runs if I have an option to avoid CHICOM garbage I will every time and I'll pay more if I have to in avoidance. When I think of cheena I think "Let's go Brandon"

highly unlikely - I doubt the Norinco and China Sports .223 is any better than their terrible 7.62x39mm. When I tried that garbage in a Russian SKS, at 25 yards it couldn't keep the impacts on an 18x24" piece of cardboard at 25m. In comparison, the hunting PSP ammo I was going to use that day to sight in the optic on my Mini-30 was 10 rounds into less than 2" under the same conditions.

The only ammo I've ever bought worse than Norinco/China Sports was some 1950s production S&B 7.63x25 Mauser. It failed to fire at all on about 25% of the ammo and had a 1-2 second hang-fire on another 25% of the rounds.

I have to keep feeding my CZ's, and factory new, brass cased 9mm ammo appears to have stabilized in the $17-$19 a box range. I'm not sure if prices will drop much more due to the inflation surge.

I have roughly 500 rounds of the HST’s.
