Kadet II Conversion Kit
« on: September 29, 2020, 07:04:52 PM »
I am considering purchasing a Kadet II 22 LR conversion kit for a CZ. I have a Shadow 2 and a CZ-75 P-01 Steel Compact. What should I be considering in my search? I am somewhat familiar with conversion kits as I have one for a Glock and an older Taurus 92, but have little knowledge of the CZ conversions.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Regards, Bob

There is a specific Kadet conversion for the shadow 2 and CZ75 P01.

Shadow 2 Kadet. It’ll have the “Shadow 2 on the slide.

75, 85, SP-01, 75 Compact, P-01, P-06,  and PCR. It’ll have Cz75 Kadet on the slide.

The KADET II kit will fit both guns... https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-75-kadet-adapter-ii-22-lr-adj-sights-10-rd-mags-will-fit-omega-system/

The P-01 will require a different slide stop, and the mags will stick out from the grip. You can get mag bases to clean up the look, but you'd need different mags for the Shadow.

The Shadow 2 will likely be sprung too soft for reliable ignition of most 22 ammo. You can use a heavier hammer spring to correct that, if you don't mind sacrificing the Shadow DA trigger feel, or swapping springs back and forth.

There's a specific Kadet adapter for SP-01.  I think it's newer than Kadet II.  https://grabagun.com/cz-sp-01-kadet-adapter-22lr-10rd.html

I use it on my P-01 and it runs like a dream.  The longer slide works fine and the mags stick out, but they work great.  They're also polymer with loading tabs on the side to make them easy to load and less expensive.  They work fine as is, but you can also put X-grip spacers on them.  I use them to convert Glock 19 mags for Glock 26.  They don't make them for CZ as far as I know, but the X-grips for the Beretta 92C fit almost perfectly.  I've attached some pics.  If I can figure out how to load images of them, I will.

Here are the pics of the Kadet SP-01 on my P-01.  Hopefully it works and they're not huge.

My shadow 2 comes with a 20# main spring. Unless the main spring has been replaced with either 13 or 11.5 or 11# main springs, the stock main spring is more than enough to ignite .22 ammo reliably.

Thanks for the reply. I don't mind mags sticking out a bit.

For some reason I thought the Shadow 2 was lightly sprung, 20# will do it just fine.

Just got a "back in stock" email from CZ. I finally got a used one the other day so I don't need one any more.
It is the new model it looks like with the long frame rails https://czcustom.com/cz-75-kadet-adapter-2-cal-22-lr-black-polycoat-91610.html

YES, there is an SP-01 KADET
But the newest design of the "Slide" for the CZ75 KADET 2, the one with the larger forward profile, i.i the SP-01 or the B-SA
will fill and run nicely on the SP-01
And .... just guessing here .... given the  design of each Kits, their operation, Sight attachment and "lock-up" ....
I'd bet, the new CZ75 KADET 2 will outshoot and outlast the SP-01 specific Kit
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

That's what I was holding out for, the Kadet 2/ Didn't want a gun specific and one that the whole slide moved, except the front sight. You have 2 things working there moving, with every shot it would seem. Front sight and barrel and rear sight all independent of each other just doesn't seem like it would be as accurate.
I have shot the one I got twice now. Very accurate! Ran 70 rounds through it with 6 different loads before any issues. Started getting light strikes. Strange.

Yeah, you gotta love the design of the 75 KADET
Much like the Mk Series, 41, Woodsman or Buckmark;
Front and Rear Sights are fixed to the Barrel

As to your lite strikes after "70 rounds through it" ....
The .22lr is a filthy animal, so depending on the Ammo, the Chamber will gunk-up pretty fast
Keep and run a Bore-Snak thru it, and bruch the gunk from the breech, after 50 or so Rounds .... see if that does any good
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

As of this morning, I see that OptiPlanet has several of the CZ75 KADET 2s in stock
https://www.opticsplanet.com/cz-usa-cz75-cz85-22lr-4-7-inch-barrell-kadet-adapter-ii-conversion-kit.html
Can't say which Slide profile they have
The Pic in the ad is the usual stock pic from years ago
