In metal 1911s Rock Island and Tisas make them in the 4-500 price range.

I’d really like to have one of the RIA Ultra 9mm/.22 TCM combos with the full length railed dust cover but that’s still a $750-$800 price tag. From what I’ve seen and read they seem to be worth it though.

local Enabler has one of these on the way for me.
Some on the way actually...
When I got the 97 I didnt like the grips, got some rubbers and MUCH better.  I got to fondle a tangofo stock III in 45 and dang it felt great, but cost twice the price.
This will allow me to carry 45 and mod up the 97 for 3 gun
Wohoo!
still LOVE my P8L! that (and lack of 9mm ammo) is what sold me on the 45...

Dropped a couple of franks on the FuddRunner today...lots of bills coming up so will be next payday before it is home. The P8L has been great! I polished the feed ramp and that's it! has had 600-800 rounds though it. That sold me on the big brother...

It was really greasy/oily, the grip is a tad different, but over all a very nice pistol especially for the price.
Stay tuned!

I finally had a chance to hold a K2-45c yesterday and it took everything in me to put it down. I found the grip to be just as comfortable as any of my small frame Tanfoglios even though the grip was obviously bigger. The ONLY thing that made me put it down was the $649 price tag. I would’ve paid $500-$550 but not $649. I’ll wait but IT WILL BE MINE, oh yes, IT WILL BE MINE! O0

Just as a point of comparison for you, back in Dec 2016 I got mine for $370 shipped to my FFL.  Great weapon, heavy, but great.  At that price how could I pass it up?

Yeah the cheapest price I recall seeing, before all the BS, was around $450. Which I would gladly pay now but tiz-wut-tit-tiz. 8)

Well dang! Those are amazing prices. Congrats. Did you find any interesting items in the owners manual? My P8L had some questionable translations to say the least, as my daughter would say - I'm a nerd - a nerd is one who reads ALL the instructions before playing with the new toy. Yes I am a nerd....

Can't wait to test this gun.
Found some more berrys 114 9mm and 230 45 bullets yesterday, time to load again! Still looking for primers...

Shot the K2 this weekend. a bit disappointing. even after polishing the feed ramp I did have a couple of nose dives on 230RN reloads. On top of that the sights were way off. like 12" low left at 15 yards. Could be just me, but I doubt it and even after adjusting the sights, it was still difficult to hit 6" plates at 15 yds. Next range day working this out will be priority.

My sights were off a bit but a few adjustments and I was consistently hitting black at 15y.  Good luck.

Back when I first got it, mine shot about 3 inches left, but height was good.  Adjusted the Rear Sight to the Right as far as it would go to finally center it's groupings.
Now this was with my favorite Match Reload, which kicks out a 200 grain Plated Flat Point at 850 fps. All of my .45 ACP chambered handguns love this loading.
