Thumb rest holster?
« on: October 03, 2020, 09:12:34 PM »
I was all excited to put my thumb rest on and go to use it today at the match and forgot it won't fit my holster now..........

Do they make a competition holster for a thumb rest or is custom the only option?

I was considering the same mod to my CZ and then looked to see what modifications needed to be made to the holsters I make. With the Boss type hanger there would just need to be a cut out of the kydex where the hanger meets and that should fix the problem...but decided not to do the thumb rest so my comment is only from observation not experience.

From the slide how far out does the rest measure?

Where did you get the thumb rest?
Never

How’s that thumb rest working for you? Been thinking about getting one!

Hafa!  I haven't tried it out yet. Just dry fire and so far I really dig it.  My only complaint is the texture for the slide stop release is not as good as the oem stop it's a little more slippery.

Once I take it out I will post up.

I would have to move my holster mount down if I dremel out that section which would bring the holster up higher.   Hmmmmm also looks like I lose the bottom mounting screw.

Sits out 1/2 inch from the slide surface

Contact GX holster and ask them if they make you one. If not, get a race holster and shoot in open minor.

Just get a cheap bladetech and dremel it, thats what I did using the BOSS. Still have as backup holster.
I spent a lot of time filing profiling it, then the holster, then got to shooting it...
left, down and left. always, I tried and tried, gave up and sold for half price.
Wish you better luck, most importantly have fun!

While we are on holsters, has anyone just bought the inserts and made their Own race holster? I'm leaning that way now that I have a dot. I'm back in the same boat (I need a new fancy holster for the new fancy part...)

Good idea.  Need to go out and see if I can even shoot with it before messing up my good holster.

Thank you!
