OK, so I'm selling my "Old Beater", Ruger P85 .... already (! ? !):
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/883770657And yeah, I've had it for just over a month !
I picked-up the P85 when I was looking for a nice / older "Tackle / Toolbox" shooter
Thinking a 22 would be"OK" .... but a 9mm would be better
Originally, I was thinking along the lines of the old Star M43, 9mm Firestar
I had one years back
I liked it a lot, but I wanted the CZ75B-SA more, so the M43 went bye bye
While looking on-line for a nice M43, I came across the Star M243, Firestar Plus; a Double Stack version of the M43 .... 13+1 Rounds of 9mm in a Sub Compact
Got into a bidding war on GB.com, and lost .... that's where the Ruger P85 came in
Anyway .... always being on the lookout, I stumbled upon a Starvel finished (this time) Star M243 "For Sale" ( no Auction ! ), so I snapped it up:
It came to me in its Box with two, 18Rd MecGar Magazines, but no OM ( which is OK, since they're available for Download ! )
I also went on-line and ordered an additional, OEM Star 13Rd Magazine for it too
So again I have, 49 + 1 total Rounds of 9mm mayhem at my Fingertips !
The M243 weighs in at 1.4 lbs empty, with a curb weight of 2.2 lbs, loaded with 19Rds of Federal 147gr HSHPs
Its Trigger Reach is: 2.570" with 0.120" of Take-up
The Trigger Breaks at a constant and very smooth 4.0 lbs .... over and over .... not an ounce, more, or less .... 4.0 pounds
Overtravel is very slight, at just 0.040", with a Reset of 0.110" and a 0.070" return Take-up
The Dimensions of the M243 are real similar to that of the CZ 2075 RAMI B
But the M243 empty weight is almost 6 ozs lighter than the 2075
YES, the RAMI carries one more Round in its stock HiCap Magazine than the Firestar Plus' OEM 13
And YES, the RAMI IS a DA/SA where the M243 is just SAO .... but that's OK, I'm a Single Action kinda of Guy
But, the Star M243 Firestar Plus is hundreds of dollars less than even a used CZ 2075 RAMI B or D
Also, in commparesence; the Firestar Plus is only 0.6 ozs heavier (empty) than an empty Solo ( I mean
) Glock 26
But the M243 carries 3 more Rounds in its stock / OEM 13 Rd Magazine than a stock (10 Rd) G26
Plus .... and need I remind .... I HATE Glocks
All in all, the Star M243 Firestar Plus is a very nice little Pistol
I hope to get it (and a couple other new to me Guns) to the Range ASAP
