HBI Theta trigger in CZ P10F
« on: November 15, 2020, 01:31:56 PM »
Contemplating installing one in my P10F once it comes back from warranty service at CZ.  Read a ton of posts here and elsewhere on the Internet, but I'm checking in to see the latest consensus on the HBI Theta trigger in the P10 platform.

What say ye?  Worth it?  Yea or nay?

I have them, mainly for the shoe itself as I like it better.  I think they are worth it

I have 3 P10F’s and two of those have hbi triggers. I find the wall more defined than stock and prefer the flat face better as well. I do use the stock striker spring on both.

Really can’t go wrong.

Good to know.  Thank you for your responses.

Chomorro, care to elaborate a bit on the improvement?

Biggest improvement for me is the flat face and the safety sits much more flush when depressed.  I use the hbi springs but I cant tell a difference really.

I put them in my P10 C and P10 F. I don't have a lot of rounds through either yet, but I very much prefer the flat face vs. curved, and I also find that I more reliably depress the safety with the HBI. The HBI removed some pretravel in both guns and the trigger break "wall" seems more defined. I wasn't looking to lighten the trigger pull so I didn't use either of the included springs. IMO it's a solid and worthwhile upgrade.

Very good.  Thanks all.  Appreciate the insight.  I'll grab one to have on hand when my pistol returns.

I too am not looking for lighter pulls as I prefer to keep stock trigger tolerances on a more "working" pistol like this one, and in reality wasn't looking at swapping anything but maybe the sights anyway.  But, having heard far more good than bad about the trigger upgrade, and being one who always is up for improvement, I can't seem to resist.

Ordered some roll pin punches as well, since I don't have any of those on hand and noticed this pistol uses them.

Got the P10F back from CZ today...excellent customer service and turn-around time.  Installed the HBI Theta trigger and it's not bad.  Slight improvement over the stock trigger when dry firing...kept the stock striker spring and like it where it's at.

Observed the tip of the Theta trigger looks like it's coming in contact with the bottom of the trigger guard, but it doesn't feel like it.  About as close as you could get to each other, it seems.

Also observed the trigger face is past vertical after the trigger breaks.  Interesting.  Not sure if that's normal, but it feels good in hand so I'm not complaining.  I'll try to get to the range and see if 1) the FTF and slide stop spring issues really have been fixed by CZ, and 2) the trigger feels any better during live-fire.

Have you looked at overwatch? You get a striker and trigger for 100. I have an hbi trigger and like it. Bought the overwatch package just for the striker which lightens the break a little.

I haven't considered Overwatch, but I'll take a look just because.  I'd considered replacing the striker with a Cajun one as I've heard good things.  So far the HBI trigger is nice.  I'll have to actually shoot the thing before I say if it's worth it or not.
