CGW Standard Package
« on: November 16, 2020, 08:07:53 AM »
I was wondering what kind of numbers people were getting for their trigger pull after installing the  Standard Package.  David has modified at least 5 CZ’s for me in the past 3 years and there is some magic the CGW does!  However since the waiting periods have grown to be longer than I wanted to wait I had the kit installed locally.  The readings I get are 5LBS in SA and 10lbs in DA.  The trigger feels very smooth but still a little heavy.  Anyone care to share what their trigger pulls are for a Standard (conceal carry) package?

The mainspring was changed to the Cajun blue spring but I do not know what the poundage on that spring is. An average of 5 pulls on a Lyman electronic gauge.

For grins I just checked my Cajunized 75B (full size) and it was 4 pound 14 ounces DA and 1 pound 6.4 ounces SA.

My unaltered CZ 75 P-01 showed 7 pounds 15.8 ounces DA and 3 pounds 1.7 ounces SA

With that Hammer spring (Blue 13#), 10lb DA is on the high side. Each CZ can react differently to the same parts, some need more love than others and in different places.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Mine came back from David with:

DA  7 lb.  13 oz.
SA  3 lb.  13 oz.

I requested as close to 8 and 4 as he could get.  I've yet to test it on a digital gauge but I'm very satisfied with the results.
CZ Compact PCR
Sig Sauer P320
Ruger LCP
Others, etc.

I installed the kits myself and did a lot of polishing of parts at the same time. My results are:

P01 Before: DA 10 lb. 3 oz.
                  SA 4 lb. 14 oz.
After:   DA 7 lb. 10 oz.
                  SA 3 lb. 3 oz.

SPO1 Before: DA: 10 lb. 2 oz.
                    SA: 4 lb. 15 oz.
After:   DA: 7 lb. 12 oz.
                    SA: 3 lb. 9 oz.

I measured DA from the decocked position since that's more representative of how I carry it. Measuring it from the fully hammer down position would have been higher.

At least as important as the weight reduction is the "feel" of the action. The trigger pull is much crisper and smoother. Trigger pull takeup is shortened as is reset. It is, IMHO, a VERY worthwhile upgrade. It turns a decent trigger into an outstanding one.
