Is a 40P a collectable?

Is a 40P that is like new with all the boxes and paperwork worth any more than one that been used? Never been a fan of 40sw even though I shot a lot of it in my Glocks. Picked this up years ago and it has been a safe queen. I'm not a collector so wear isn't an issue. Now with the ammo shortage it might be time to start shooting up my 40sw stash. Should I use the CZ or sell it to offset the purchase of a Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P M2.0 Ported Barrel & Slide C.O.R.E. Semi-Auto Pistol. Really like that I can install a rds.

I would say the 40B / 40P are collectible to CZ fans. Not so certain about general collectability in the market. Was your slide milled to un-horse it from the Colt Z40 logo?

I think so. When this topic came up years ago I took a look and thought, Neat!

Think I’m just going to drop in a 13# hammer spring a call it good. When I got to counting it all up the stash wasn’t as big as I recalled. Plus the last thing I need is another gun in a caliber I don’t want to reload for.

that looks like a milled slide

seems to be the most common way for the 40P pistols I've seen to be configured, but I haven't actually seen a milled 40B.

The 40B is an excellent shooter out of the box, However... it is an amazing shooter once once you install the Cajun Pro kit!

I expect the 40P with the Cajun Pro kit will also be a fantastic shooter.

BTW, the 13lbs hammer spring will noticeable improve the double action trigger pull weight - it won't do much for the single action though. Still, not a bad idea to do.

It is.  My 40P is fully Cajunized and is a fantastic shooter.  I have a spare 40P slide that will be milled for a red dot one of these days.  Right now, I run it on a .40 75B Compact.

Took the 40P out a few times now. Great fun as long as I take my “shooting” glasses so I can see the sights, lol. It really throws brass! Might install a heavier recoil spring.

This is a really interesting question now that CZ owns Colt.  I wonder if there is some impact on the value of the Z40 models more so now? The 40P being the leftovers from a fallout with Colt, becomes a weird dynamic for the historians/collectors.
