Pistol Brace "Legality"

More info regarding the thread started by Den Stinnet. FYI Grendel, this story broke last night, not six months ago as you mentioned when you locked the other thread.

June 17th 2020:

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges - Tacitus

Inter arma enim silent leges - Cicero

I wasn't born in America, but I got here as fast as I could.

June 17th 2020:

The issue back in June was regarding 2 specific AR pistols manufactured and sold by Q. This is a different issue, and is far more sweeping in its effect. It's relevant to many Scorpion pistol owners. It's actually explained in the linked article.

There is a great deal of confusion and consternation involving the issue, and yes, we do have a current issue specific to the Honey Badger pistol/brace combo, and possible with SB due to them only having letters for two of the several variants they offer. Have they been in touch with the Biden campaign about what to do in the future? Possible, but there is nothing set in stone as of now. I will monitor this one closely as most of us will, because I don't want to see anyone here fall afoul of random and capricious changes brought on by political wind shifting.

ATFE will be making an announcement tomorrow. From what I am told, rifle style pistols will not be allowed to have any type of brace unless that exact pistol and that exact brace are approved by ATFE.  We wait to see what actually is said, but those who know have said the new rules are vague and capricious. I recommend all here to be wary. I fear I will never see Goblin again.

Yep.  All this coming from Biden and his team.

Also, MAC alleges that gun owners will have the right to SBR them w/o the SBR fee, but with costs of engraving, etc.

This guy alleges that SB Tactical knew about it for awhile, but failed to let anyone know.

You better pay attention this is the start. Make you comments known to the atf  by the first of the year.  Or just accept your fait. Follow the links from tfb to the aft.

Forum members who live in the US, please go and comment on the ATF's proposed changes to handling braces.  I left comment yesterday.  Remember to keep it civil.

The ATF seems to have re-thought the brace issue, for now.

They're probably just reloading for a letter that'd carry the force of law like they did with slidefire stocks.
