success with my compact 40
« on: December 02, 2020, 10:47:52 PM »
I had traded for a cz 75 compact 40sw awhile ago. I hated it right away. Would not operate with supplied factory mags. I ordered the mecgar compact mags for it and it cycles flawlessly. In addition I installed the mcarbo spring kit, but not the sear spring. At the same time I put the cz85 trigger, because the trigger bite on the recurve was killer. Lastly I put on G10 grips and I really like the slim profile. It also helped with the mags dropping free versus the factory rubber grip which held up the mags. The firearm is very accurate and enjoyable to shoot

Nice! Just changed out the springs on a 40P over the weekend. Hope to try it out tomorrow. Shooting 40sw again after years of just 9mm will be a Snap I’m sure!

Is this the all steel compact 40 or the metal-framed P-06?

40P is the Colt Z40 / CZ 40B upper on a P-06 aluminum decocker frame

40B = Colt Z40

40P = 40B upper on a P06 frame

40B = Colt Z40

40P = 40B upper on a P06 frame

Some 40P have a intentionally-made CZ 40B slide, others have the de-Colted (un-horsed, etc) leftover Z40 slides (Colt Z40 logo milled off).

De-colted slides seem to be more common on the 40P than the 40B.

Sorry. My question was directed to the OP regarding the "compact 40".

I own and shoot the CZ 40P.  It's between a full-size and a compact.  Excellent firearm!

IIRC, the Compact 40 has a steel frame with upturned beavertail like the 99021 and 99041. I'd love to have one.

These CZ models are getting more confusing by the day. I am not sure that i have seen this one before.

Glad to hear that your new CZ is working out well for you OP. May it run flawlessly.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

There was one for sale here a couple years ago, can't remember who was selling it but it was a regular. It was a CZC build with an extra 357Sig barrel and an extra 9mm slide I think too. Wish I'd have bought it!
