« on: December 04, 2020, 03:44:00 AM »
Hello,
My first revolver, czech Alfa Steel 2261 from Brno factory, chambered in .22lr.
9 rounds, about 1220 grams, wood grips - for only $540 (in Poland). I set trigger weight for 1200g, tomorrow gun will be tested for a first time  ;)

And factory target, distance 15 metres
SP01, P09, P10SC, 457 22lr, IMI Galil 5.56, Alfa 2261 22lr, Maverick....

Nice.  Did you get the blued or stainless model?

Enjoy your shoot and report on initial thoughts.

I like the way that one looks.  Reminds me of my S&W 586 6".

I think that full lug under the barrel improves the looks and helps reduce recoil (not an issue with the .22 I suppose, but the look is good).

Not sure how much experience you have with .22s but they are kind of funny.  If you can get different brands/bullet types buy a box of each and shoot to see if your gun "likes" one brand/type vs. others.  I have guns that like Remington ammo and won't shoot Winchester for beans.  I have one that likes Federal pretty well while the rest do better with Remington.  The CCI ammo (Stingers) I tried years ago didn't shoot well in any of my rifles/pistols.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Thats blued version.
In my Cz457 I only use Sellier Bellot Club ammo, in my opinion best ammo for that barell. I try many brands of ammo: Geco, Remington, RWS, CCI,  Federal, Eley and Aguila. For competition I use SB Club, for fun Remington in bucket.
I bought this revolver for competition and fun, I was convinced by the price and solid construction.

Funny you said that !
The ONLY Firearm I will ever use Remington .22s Ammo, is in a Wheelgun !
Your average Remington .22lr Crimp, is too weak (IMHO) for any Magazine fed Gun; Rifle or Pistol
I find that they (too often) fold upon "ramping" into the Chamber
You can snap one in two with your bare HAND (one Hand) way too easy !

As I said .... that IS a very nice looking Revolver you have there Hamilton

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

25m, wind about 5 m/s, ammo Geco (red box).

Remington HV is cheapest ammo in Poland. That ammo is good for a pistol but sometimes makes stowpipes and FTE, in cz457 I can't make good group with that ammo. SB Club is in almost the same price, about 30 cents more for a box, but is more stable on distance 50m and more.
