SAR K2 45 - polish feed ramp before and after pics
« on: December 06, 2020, 05:54:45 PM »
Got my FuddStump out of layaway yesterday.
Took home and cleaned. Test plunked ammo made for CZ97 and it plunks.
I noticed the feed ramp isn't the best, so went ahead and polished it up. I had to do the same for the P8L (which I now love). Used the end of a sharpie marker and some emeroy cloth.

Went into back yard and hand-cycled all 14 rounds no problem.
We will see how she runs.
Overall, this looks to be a great gun. If it runs, the 97 might be left in safe or offed al together...
Feels better in hand, Stainless, 14 rounds vs 10, cheaper, has rail, LCI is just a hole vs. pin/spring/plate/setscrew.
May be next weekend, but can't wait...

Nice and shinny, just the way that i like them. I just did the feed ramp on my RAMI.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

What's your process out of curiosity?
I tried a 45cal poly bristle bore brush wrapped with a patch and coted in JB bore paste chucked in a hand drill. Slower than dremel, but still catched on the sides and comes of the ramp with force.

I also don't like this procedure because that polished in a perpendicular to the feed ramp, per se. So I moved to hand rubbing with emery cloth and the sharpie end because that polished IN the direction that the bullet is trying to go into the chamber.

I generally use a bullet shaped polishing tip on a dremel with Flitz or Mothers polishing compound.

Yep, pretty simple really.

Nice.  I've never had feeding problems with my K2-45 and my ramp is very well done.  Glad to see new ones are available.  It's a great weapon, just wish it didn't weigh as much as 2 of my poly pistols combined.

Ran a few mags of Berrys 230RN through the gun yesterday. no feed issues. Did require adjustment of sights a bit, but I got it good enough to shoot at clays at 50 yards. I  only hit one, but out of a spread of clays on the berm you could easily tell which one I was shooting at. Calling it good for now, more testing to come. Starting to like this pistol especially with 14 round capacity. Wish they had some rubber grips. Have Olight installed on rail and it held on alright.

update...
Ran all three today.
Made some new ammo with shorter COAL to try to resolve nosediving issue in the K245.
97 is just back from CZ as it had a busing issue resolved.
I brought the 1911 as reference.

The CZ just shoots and feels better to me. It is a close race, but I will give it to CZ. Now on the round count and rail option, the K2 wins. Maybe if I get used to the K2 I can shoot it better. I think rubber grips would also help.

Its been a while since I've shot the 45s. They all shot well, except the CZ did NOT like the short loads with the smallest power level, it ate all other ammo that day no prob. The 1911 was nice change/comparison.

I think I'm going Carry/match CZ and the K2 will stay at home with the light on it. Until I can find more primers not much practice time to get used to shooting it much.
