Bren 2 holographic from Eotech
« on: December 18, 2020, 10:11:14 PM »
I’m looking to run Eotech holographic sight. I have the 11” 7.62 and am curious if somebody here is running Eotech and which one they went with in this caliber. Are you also using the magnifier? I run Holosun and Trijicon dots on all other guns. Thanks

I always hit the EOTech when charging, so I switched to an lpvo, or tuube optic for the BREN 2

I had an EOTech XPS2-0 on my 14 inch carbine (pinned and welded flash hider), worked well enough. I prefer a single dot and went to an Aim Point P.R.O. in a M.W.G. QD mount. I tended to hit my index finger on the top first knuckle with the EOTech and the Aim Point factory mount, when charging the carbine. My charging handle is on the left side of the carbine. When I moved the handle to the right side I didn't hit the sight, just like the handle on the left.

I ran an eotech on a Unity FAST riser for some time on my 7.62X39 Bren.

The fast riser moves the optic up and out of the way so you wont break your knuckles on the thing.  I'd suggest that you run it further to the rear of the rifle IF you do go this route.

Generally speaking, I prefer my micro sized dots with Scalar works mounts to the eotech because of the above noted potential issue.

With the factory charging handle, I did hit the EOtech periodically.  I went with the HB Industries extended charging handle which helped but if you have large hands you may still hit the base. I’ve since gone to a Unity Fast Riser which I personally prefer. I am slightly quicker from low ready AND the Eotech base is never an issue.

In all honesty I never really had many problems prior to the unity riser because I would only charge the gun initially. Once running I used the side and/or  trigger guard bolt release. These aren’t AK’s so no need to run the charging handle every reload. I run a few different optics but I always find myself using Eotech on my “Go To’s”.
