Which frame style to you prefer for Bull Shadow slide?
« on: January 01, 2021, 06:16:00 PM »
I'm having a hard time deciding. I have both an SP01 and a 75SA (frame only) that I'm considering putting a Bull Shadow slide on. Which frame style do you prefer for this slide style?

If I put the Bull Shadow on the SP01, the SP01 slide will be moved to the 75SA frame. So I guess the question is, Bull Shadow SP01 and SP01/75SA Franken gun vs. 75SA Bull Shadow and stock SP01? Decisions, decisions.

I prefer the look of the short dust cover set up. You do not really need the rail for a comp/range pistol. The only down side might be that the exposed portion of the slide rail tends to be lube up and exposed. This happens on my 75 Shadow and it can make a mess.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Iceman...
I’m thinking/guessing your  Bsa frame only may be a non firing pin block unit. If so that’s good!! The Bull Shadow slide is a non firing pin block slide. You will need to “blend” the/either frame to allow the BS slide to work without dragging. After that go shoot away. ...but why not get both your SP01 and your 75 BSA frames blended? Change your SP01 frame to a non firing pin block unit by putting in the spacer and then remove the firing pin block from the slide. By doing this you can run either the SP01 slide or the BS slide on either the BSA or the SP01 frame and you will have either a DA/SA or SA unit with a Bull Shadow slide.   Just a thought.   I have/built two BS slides and have 2 BSAs(frames)
. One is made into a DA/SA and one of the slides has a red dot. Both slides work on either frame.       Just something to think about that gives you more options.    Personally I like the balance better with the BS slide on the short dust cover.      You have some options..... 😎

I prefer the SA frame, but I am thinking hard about the compact slide on the SP01 frame.

Himurax13....  Are the grips on your Bull Shadow in this picture the LOK brass units that you went gray/black??  The reason I’m asking is I have the LOK brass units....and just don’t like the brass look. They feel great and are very heavy to boot but I’m thinking some cerakote would fix the brass look.
So is that what you did??

Yes. Both sets of brass grips and brass basepads were cerakoted black.

Thanks for the reply. The blacked grips look much better imo .
I’m going to get mine “de-Miami Viced” next week.  Thanks

Who makes the base pads?

I am curious about what " fitting" if any needs to be done to the Bull slide or to the 75 non firing pin block (85 combat) frame in order to marry this subject slide and frame?
Thanks
