My first CZ wasn't a CZ, and it led me to this site. I was carrying a Taurus 66 .357 Mag revolver at the time for my EDC, (Arizona law is GREAT for carry), over 30 years ago, when I stopped at my favorite gunshop, and he insisted I try the trigger on something new he had on the shelf. It was a brand new EAA Witness in 40SW. I tried it, pulled out that Magnum, placed it on the counter and said, "Here's my trade in." I carried that Italian made pistol for YEARS. It was so new that the record in Italy showed it being shipped as a 9mm. Now flash forward a bunch of years, and I have hung on to this pistol through bankruptcy, marriage, and childbirth, and I was between jobs working at Jensen's Indoor Range. I call it between jobs because working the range as a salesman and range officer was WAY too much fun to get paid for, and because it paid squat. A customer there named Old Joe, (passed on many years ago, RIP), told me it was ridiculous that would be carrying a CLONE of the truly great CZ. He sold me a steel frame CZ 75 Compact for dirt. That little pistol was incredibly accurate and fit me like a custom made glove, and I carried it everywhere.
Unfortunately, like many guns I have lost over the years, medical bills and such led to it being sold, but by that time I had discovered alloy frames, and a P-01 rode my side until I literally wore it out. Now a first gen P-10C has the honor, and I look forward to many year wearing IT out!
