Primary Machine Barrels
« on: March 03, 2021, 07:25:37 PM »
Any experience with these?
My search's didn't turn up
much, don't know if it's terminology
or not a lot out there.
I mostly try to run 124gr range and
carry (HST std pressure)
Input's much appreciated!

My sample of one(P10C) is awesome. Cut group size in half from a rest. I've had for a couple years now, between practice and matches, lots of rounds through it. No issues, cleans up easily. Great people to deal with.

I've had mine since November and it's been fantastic. 0 function issues and I believe it's shrunk my groups.

I had one in a P10F and it seemed to be the cause of rounds failing to feed.. It would deadhead into the bottom of the feed ramp.

I have one in my P-10C.  I loved everything about the pistol from the minute I started shooting it except the accuracy.  Not that it was terrible just that I got better results from most of my other pistols.  I finally decided try the Primary Machine barrel.

When I installed the barrel I was a little skeptical because the fit wasn't any better or worse that my factory barrel.  Not that the fit was bad on the factory barrel I was just expecting the PM barrel to be a tighter fit.  Boy was I surprised.  Even before breaking it in the PM barrel dramatically reduced my group sizes.  With five or six hundred rounds through it I can stack rounds on target at my typical 10-15 yard practice ranges.

For what it's worth I have fired other stock P-10 pistols that didn't have my accuracy issues.  I refused to give up on mine because the trigger is amazing from the factory and I love the ergos and how flat shooting it is.  I had dumped a lot of money into a first get M&P pro that had horrible accuracy even with an Apex barrel and various other upgrades.  That pistol was just a dog.

If I ever had a poor shooting or damaged factory barrel, I wouldn't hesitate buying one from Primary Machine at all.

Had a p07 barrel that just wouldn't shoot no matter what loads and bullet combos I tried. Switched to the Primary Machine threaded with a comp and it dropped the groups by half.

For those who used Primary Machine did you have to send them your gun or just order the barrel? I have read some reviews that said they may need to fit the barrels to your gun.

It was a drop in fit.

Many times a part will drop in and function just fine and many times a part may need some fitting due to tolerance variations present in ALL makes of firearms. You need to beware of this fact. What dropped right in one persons gun may not drop right in yours.

Thank you. That does made sense. I just wasn't sure if I'd need to send my P07 in for a new barrel or if these are pretty consistent at drop in. Thanks for the help.

I do believe, if fitting is found necessary after 300 rd's,
PM offers to do it at no charge.

I've got myself on their waitlist. Hopefully the barrel I'm looking for will come in soon.
