Do the Kadet II kits require fitting?
« on: March 12, 2021, 04:01:31 PM »
Something that I've noticed with some of the Kadet kit reviews is that the Kadet slide needs to be filed down to fit the frame. Is this still the case or do the current Kadet kits not need fitting to a standard CZ 75?

For CZ 75 variant kadet kits, it is luck of the draw, some require fitting and others do not. This is not a product of the kadet upper alone, but the variance in the frame manufacturing.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

So do I need to shave some of the front slide off if the slide doesn't fit my 75B frame?

It is going to depend on the specific frame that you intend to run the Kadet slide on. If it requires fitting, there are a few different fitting areas covered in the Kadet Kit manual that may come into play. Fitting the rails is one of the possibilities, depending on your specific frame. It is a trial an error process, but it is not hard. Patience and a hand file is all that you need to complete the process correctly.

It is so slight, I used an emory board.

I have 4 of them.  Two needed no fitting, one just taking off a small amount on the underside of one surface.  The last one was all three areas had to be addressed.  None of them took more than 15 min. Most of that was constantly rechecking to make sure I did not take too much off.  All are accurate and function perfectly as long as kept reasonably clean (500-1000 rounds).

Good luck.

"Fitting" conjures up all kinds of images, like machinist's blue, micrometers, bright lights, and machining.  Nothing like that is ever required.  The metal pads on the Kadet may need to be hit with a file or emory board to get the slide to fit each particular frame.  It doesn't matter if it is a little loose on the frame when you are done because the barrel is rigid with the sights.  More like a "trim" than a "fitting".  Easy.

As everyone else has said, it's more like just have to remove the Polycoat from the KADET's Main (Housing) Frame (not the Pistol Frame) Tabs "B"
You "MAY" need the file a bit of metal from the Barrel Lug "A" to get the Barrel Lug to slide into the Pistol Frame

Remember: NEVER do any work on the Pistol's Frame to fit a Slide !
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

I’ve got two kits on 75B SA’s and neither one needed any fitting on these guns but front rails were pretty tight on my P-01. Both kits run awesome with zero issues.

Hey MW9G,

I fit my Kadet 2 on a 75B SA frame a couple weeks back. No stress at all. As Den stated, just a small amount of filing on the 2 areas listed in the Kadet 2 manual. I had to touch both areas as shown below:

File then test...repeat. then you're done. You're all good.

Cheers,
Peter
