I just installed this kit on both of my SAR K2-45's this weekend, they say they work on all the SAR hammer fired pistols.  I don't have any trigger pull weight devices, but the difference is noticeable!  Very pleased.  Good $25 investment. I've NEVER dealt with trigger springs before nor am I very mechanically inclined, but the video makes it totally doable.  ONE Note: the video says to use a 3/32" roll pin punch for the pin that holds the hammer in place, that did NOT work for me. But, once I switched to the 1/8" roll pin punch, it came out fairly easily.

Just passing this along to anyone interested. And, no I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a good product from what I've seen so far.

Thx! Will give it a try. Now if I can just figure out where to find a new rear sight adjustment screw. Original disappeared into my gun range black hole... :(

I don't think you'll be disappointed!  I need to get a trigger gauge at some point.  Good luck on finding that rear adjustment screw.

Been looking for a rear sight screw for a year. Not happening apparently. Supposedly S&W M&P dovetail is close and sights for same will work so may end up just replacing whole sight. Ordering Galloway Spring Kit tonight. Thx for the heads up Unionman. I bought this pistol due to a posting you made 2+ years ago about the K2 being available. I thank you! Love the pistol!!

FYI, this kit also works for the P8.  I installed this on both my 45C and my P8S (both brand new) pistols and after 100 rounds I'm measuring P8S: ~8.5lb for DA / ~2.5lb for SA; 45C: ~7lb for DA / ~2.5lb for SA.  The spring kit made the biggest difference with the P8S in DA which was 11lb 10oz out of the box.

No issues with light strikes so far, but as noted I've only shot the 100 rounds on each.

This is GREAT news! Thx for sharing. I will try this with both SARs I have.
For you triggersnobs withought a measuring device, here is a trick I have used:
Mount EMPTY pistol pointed to cieling with vise or c-clamp on a desk leg
get a Crown Royal bag and start dropping 124 gn projectiles in until you get close
lightly place the string on the trigger and then slowly put in a bullet at a time in the bag, you may have to go back and forth about 5-10 bullets but it worked for me testing SAO conv a few years ago. So well in fact I still don't have a proper measuring device.

If you don't have bullets just sub for coins or some other known weight.
then google conversion. It will get you close.

I have the kit in all my SARs and Tanfoglios, and it works well.
There are three things I need to mention though:
  • The hammer spring was too light for my K2 45, and only it
  • In newer versions of the kit they have increased the weight of the TRS, which annoys me
  • For a really nice trigger pull add the Patriot Defense Reduced Power Sear Spring

Is this the right one?  https://patriotdefense.com/patriot-defense-reduced-power-sear-spring/

I just got it in the mail.  How do I install it?  Is there a video showing how to do it somewhere online?

Do you know how to take your sear cage out?

This is how to change the sear, which includes reinstalling the sear spring:

Honestly, I am so used to do it, that do it much simpler.
I push the pin (left to right) only so I can take out the original spring.
Then I rotate the sear, push the new spring down with a punch, catch it with a thinner punch from the left side and then push back in the pin from the right side.
If it seems too hard (it can be intimidating the first time) you can try with a slave pin - from qtip or toothpick.

This is how to remove and then reinstall the sear cage:

If you did not change the hammer spring with a lighter one, it will take some wrestling to get the sear cage all the way back.

I got the kit installed on my Sar K2 a while back and I finally took it to the range for the first time today.  I had one light strike that didn't ignite the primer on my first magazine.  That one did fire on the second strike but I don't trust the pistol now.

I could put all the stock springs back in, but I'd like to just put the minimum factory spring(s) back in to make it reliable again and retain the lighter trigger pull.  Anyone know which factory spring I should put back in first?
