TZ75 Compact "Mossad"
« on: April 05, 2021, 07:44:44 PM »
I am sure this has been discussed more than once here but I reviewed the Magazine "Master list"  string and still couldn't find the answer.  So here is my question:  I recently purchased the handgun pictured below which is a 1990 TZ 75 Compact with the Mossad engraving.  The date and model was confirmed by Tanfoglio.   Unfortunately,  the magazine that came with it did not lock in or lock back the slide.  I purchased a CZ compact magazine only to realize it was exactly the same magazine.  (I now have two of these mags that I will let go for cheap if some needs them).  If anyone has any suggestions on what magazines will work,  I would appreciate it very much if you would share that knowledge.  I did write Tanfoglio a second time inquiring about mags,  but haven't heard back yet.

Any Assistance is appreciated:

While I don't know what mags you need, hit me up with the round count per mag and I'll probably buy them if they aren't 10 counts. That should at least help you recoup some money towards new ones of the right size, and that's a pretty sweet looking piece. I'd have definitely bought it too.

Try to contact https://gregcotellc.com/cart/products_all.html

His website has some advice/guidance on what magazines fit other guns.

If not answer there you might try calling him for help/advice.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

There is a gun forum out there called ODT, the Outdoors Trader, based in Georgia. On that forum is a guy wanting to sell 3-5 Tanfoglio compact mags....I’ll see if I can link you to it...

Very nice gun. Yours is made with the exact same parts as the Springfield P9 compact series, which was also made by Tanfoglio.

Not sure if it helps but Gunbroker.com tends to have magazines for sale that would fit. Search ‘Tanfoglio’.

The one that came with mine was fully functional, but the grip panels extended too far and it required slamming it into the gun as hard as I could to get it in, and most of the time it refused to drop without my pulling it out to help it. I sanded off a little of the panels and that solved the issue. The mag is marked with a T, for Tanfoglio. I got another magazine soon after I bought it, no markings on it at all, it fits and locks in fine, but doesn't hold open the slide. I can live with that. I have bought a couple of mags onlne and none of them have worked, so I'm interested in this thread.

I've had no problem finding mags for my fullsized "Mossad" and "Combat Cohai" Tanfoglio made guns.

I’ve tried the Cz mecgars from my full sized Cz in the full sized tanfoglio TZ- they don’t fit, and the sp-01 mags that do fit don’t lock the slide back.  Which mags worked for you?

Well,  I have made some headway with the magazine issue.  I found a NOS Pre-B CZ 75/85 16 round magazine at my LGS.  It fit and functioned flawlessly.  The only problem was that it hung out of the bottom of the magwell by about an inch. SO I looked through the available X-Grip magazine spacers on eBay and it looked like the one for Beretta 92 would work the best so I took a chance and purchased that and it did work quite well,  not perfect,  but pretty close.  I did have to sand about 1 16th off the top of the spacer,  but the rubber took the sanding very well.  I also refinished the grips and took it to the range yesterday and in functioned flawlessly and felt great to shoot---I am very happy with this purchase---but still in the hunt for a proper magazines for it.
