P07, 09 needs a refresh
« on: April 20, 2021, 03:47:53 PM »

Would love to see a refresh to include optic option, maybe a bit thinner trimmed down some, grip texture etc. Hard to believe it first came out in 2007. Also, subcompact while, they are at it.

Agree.  Would like replaceable grip panel not just back-straps for a more custom fit.  Texture a little more aggressive and most important to bring back 40 cal., 357 SIG would be a bonus.

357 Sig.  Heck even Sig closed the coffin door on that one.

Indeed. While there is probably a niche an aftermarket company or small manufacturer can fill the odds of CZ, or really any large manufacturer, introducing new models in .40 or .357 are extremely low. For CZ it's currently 0 chance. It's a money loser.

You can not get 600+ ft/lbs of energy out of a 9mm, which I still would not trust my families safety.  Others can choose their own.  And a P07 or P09 would be just fine.

You can find someone to make you (modify) a .357 SIG barrel for your P07/P09, Tactical Sport, etc. but it will cost you.

I guess there wasn't (isn't) enough demand for it from the companies that make .357 SIG barrels.

I found a .357 SIG barrel for the FNS .40 4" and had to wait a couple/three months for it till they got enough orders to make it worth making a few.

Same company didn't offer  CZ .357 SIG barrels.

.357 SIG?  .40 S&W?  9MM?  Like the Ford, Chevy, Dodge lover arguments.  Nothing is perfect and people will always find a reason to choose one over the other and be able to argue why their choice is better.

I always get a kick out of people who say you don't need the extra velocity of the .357 SIG and then turn around and promote 9MM +P ammo because (wait for it) of the additional velocity.

If it's true (born out by street shooting results) the 9MM will stay the king of the street.  Not sure if the videos of LEOs shooting people till the slide locks back are the norm for OIS these days or not.  If so, will it begin to upset a lot of people that LEOs are shooting people so many times?    I don't know.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Would love to see the P07 and P09 offered as optics ready and the grip texture improved. That is really all I see a need for updating.

Yeah, if they intend to stick with making P07 and P09 pistols giving buyers the option for a red dot would sell more pistols.  Three of my four P07/P09 pistols have red dots on them.

I would absolutely love a milled RDS option but have already been looking at Jagerwerks to mill my P-07 for my RMR.

Would not be surprised if a “thinner” Omega redesign shows up in the future.

P07-It's almost a perfect carry gun.  Changes-Maybe milled for an optic.  Grip texture is never going to please everyone so leave it and add tape if not happy.  I'd like to see the trigger break forward of where it does now.  I'm used to it and still carry it daily.

How about them both in .45acp ! The P-10 in .45acp is out now but I'm tired of striker guns.

A refresh would be good. I love my P-07, but I'd be all over an OR version, and if the ergos were updated to compete with guns like the P30/VP9 (w/interchangeable side plates), I think it could be one of the most popular hammer guns around.
