Why such a Lame Backstrap Setup on the P-10 series? The roll-pin with the jagged teeth is very difficult to get in and out.
I also don't understand why the pistols are shipped with the Small Backstrap installed instead on the common Medium.

How about if they shipped them with no backstrap installed then everyone could pick the one they wanted to try and they'd all be equally irritated? I don't know what it's like to change the pin in the P10 but the Walther PPQ I owned briefly used the same set up and it wasn't all that bad to change out.
Since there's not hammer spring running down the backstrap to keep tension on the retaining pin such as on the P-07/09 I suspect the jagged type roll pin was the next best thing.

It literally takes 5 seconds to swap the backstrap.

The pins on my two were an absolute pain.

Maybe I've been lucky on mine, but with the right roll pin punch they come out.  takes a moderate hammer whack (not that hard though).  The pin looks to be re-usable for at least several backstrap swaps - but I ordered an extra anyway for the parts bin.

Being new to CZs, I had to quickly acquire sets of std. and roll pin punches to work on my P-10F.  I also needed to change the backstrap from small (as supplied) to medium to fit my med to large size hand.  I was kind of surprised the pistol came supplied with the small backstrap on it.  That may have been a 1st for me.  As far as getting the pin out, just gave it the appropriate whacks with a hammer and out she came.

I had to give the roll pin on my P10-C a pretty good whack to get it to move, I guess they are designed to stay put and they're good at that.  As long as you don't take them out many times I think they're best as is, but I'd be concerned that they'd rasp out the plastic eventually if they're removed very many times.

That being said, I can't picture the situation where the backstrap pin needed to be removed more than a very few times.  Mine went from small to large, and then after a bit back down to medium.  That's it, so twice.
