I haven't tried these specific +2 base pads, but it seems unlikely you would need a longer spring, since they look like aluminum versions of the factory polymer +2 base pads.  Factory +2 base pads work fine with the factory spring.  The mag extensions I have seen that do require extra strength springs are the +5 base pads from Shield Arms.
